GAGDI DONATES ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND(100,000) TO KOPLOK COMMUNITY OF BELNING WARD OF PANKSHIN LGA .

It was a great moment at the weekend as Rt. Hon Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, member representing the good people of Pankshin, Kanke and Kanam Federal Constituency was at Koplok community to grace the occasion of the community tag “KOPLOK DAY”.
Represented by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Prince Rotdunna Sekat who arrived the venue at about 1:30pm, after exchanging pleasantries with friends and well wishers, was ushered into the venue by MC of the day who announced his arrival as the representative of Gagdi, Prince Rotdunna Sekat in his usual gentle Character after observing protocol, informed his host that his boss, Rt. Hon Yusuf Adamu Gagdi is supposed to be at Koplok but due to so many engagements tying his hands, he send him to represent him with the donation of a hundred thousand naira cash. The joy of the people knew no bound, as they chanted in appreciation of the donation by Hon Gagdi.

The senior special assistant on media later made his way to as custom demands, pay respect to the ngolong and the other traditional tittle holders of the community and had the bid of fair well by the people who in all, were greatful for the show of love by the honorable member of PKK.

PLATEAU REPS CAUCUS PASS VOTE OF CONFIDENCE ON DEPUTY SPEAKER

We, the entire members of the Plateau State Caucus in the House of Representatives to reiterate our full confidence in the Leadership of the Deputy Speaker, Rt Hon Ahmed Idris Wase.

Our resolve has become imperative following an unfortunate incident between the Deputy Speaker and another colleague during plenary which has since gone viral on social media.

The incident has since been given an ethnic and political coloration which ought to be a purely parliamentary affair.

Let it be noted that the Rt.Hon Idris Wase is a seasoned legislator who has over the years represented the people of Wase, Plateau,the North Central and the entire nation effectively.

During this period he has enjoyed the tremendous respect of his colleagues and his people..

He has sponsored many bills and motions that have been key to the development of our nation and enhanced governance.

As a Presiding Officer, he is known to have listening ears and accommodating of all views.

We in Plateau State and the North Central have witnessed the infrastructural and human development attributed to the Deputy Speaker such as Roads, medical facilities, rural electrification, exploration of mineral resources, employment opportunities and countless gestures attributed to his diligence and passion for the entire North Central that he represents and the nation at large.

As colleagues, he is passionate about the growth of our our constituencies too.

We as a caucus therefore implore the public not to misunderstand the intentions of the Deputy Speaker who is known to act in accordance with laid down procedures.

JANG BEGS BUHARI TO GRANT PARDON6TO DARIYE AND NYAME

Immediate past Governor of Plateau State, Jonah Jang, has appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to grant state pardon to his predecessor, Joshua Dariye.

Jang, who took over from Dariye as Governor in 2007, but the two remained political rivals till Dariye’s conviction made the call on Sunday while speaking at the finals of the Plateau North Peace and Unity Football Tournament at the Rwang Pam Township Stadium in Jos, the state capital.

According to Jang “it is time for us as Plateau people to speak with one voice, so am pleading with Mr. President, Muhammadu Buhari to grant our son, Senator Joshua Dariye pardon so that he can come back and join us”.

He equally appealed for state pardon for former Taraba State Governor, Jolly Nyame, who was also convicted on corruption charges.

Jang said, “These two are dear to us in Plateau and Nigeria and it is our earnest prayer that the President considers our request, as we continue to pray for him too, to succeed in his tenure.”

The former Governor was speaking on the need for all politicians in the State to emulate Senator Istifanus Gyang of Plateau North who organised the maiden Peace and Unity Football Tournament in the State.

NORTHERN GOVERNORS CONDEMN ATTACK ON GOVERNOR ORTOM

The Northern State’s Governors Forum Forum has condemned in totality the attack on the convoy of Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom, describing it as a disturbing development which must be investigated thoroughly.

Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Plateau State Simon Bako Lalong in a statement said the attack on Governor Ortom was yet another daring attempt by criminals to cause mayhem not only in Benue State but in the nation as a whole.

While praising the security details of the Governor for repelling the attack and securing the Governor and members of his entourage, Lalong said relevant security agencies must carry out detailed investigation to fish out those behind the attack and their sponsors.

According to him, all hands must be on deck to tame this degeneration of security in the country that threatens the corporate existence of the nation.

Lalong said the Northern Governors stand in solidarity with their colleague and the entire people of Benue State, assuring that they will continue to engage and support security agencies in their duty of securing the region and nation at large.

GOVERNOR SIMON BAKO LALONG PARLEYS PLATEAU JOURNALIST, ASSURES OF COMPLETING LEGACY PROJECTS

GOVERNOR LALONG PARLEYS PLATEAU JOURNALISTS, ASSURES OF COMPLETING LEGACY PROJECTS.

After a successful media tour that took journalists to the 17 Local Government Areas of Plateau State, Governor Simon Lalong has engaged members of the media in a parley to listen to their experiences, comments, suggestions and questions.

While speaking at the media parley held at the Victoria Gowon Auditorium, New Government House, Little Rayfield Jos, Governor Lalong assured the journalists that he will ensure the completion of all Legacy Projects initiated by his administration before the end of his tenure.

In his words “If we can complete projects we inherited from past Governments, then we would ensure we complete the ones we started. We want to complete the projects during our tenure to avoid the problem of abandoned projects. If we don’t complete them, it will become a waste while the people continue to suffer”.

He also responded to various questions about his administration covering all areas including the expected take off of the National Livestock Transformation Program, implementing the law on land grabbing, sustaining security and peace among others.

Commissioner for Information and Communication Dan Manjang appreciated the Governor for his passion towards the development of the State and his open door policies and humility that has seen the return of peace to the State.

He said the tour was undertaken in 3 days and covered some projects mostly in the Lalong Legacy Projects. He said many others were not covered because of logistics and time, assuring that with the Governor’s permission, another round of projects inspection will be undertaken in the near future.

Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Governor Dr. Makut Simon Macham and the DG Research and Documentation Prof. John Wade all appreciated the Governor for his media friendly posture which they said has made engagement with the media very smooth.

They said such interactions were important for feedback generation and for proper analysis and documentation of Government activities for future reference and posterity.

NUJ Chairman Plateau State, Comrade Paul Jatau commended the Governor for the ongoing construction works at the Lalong legacy projects all over the 17 local Governments.

He urged Governor Lalong to further make efforts to ensure that the terminus market is rebuilt .

Jatau also commended Governor Lalong for the reconstruction work at the Plateau State Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), saying it will be a great delight to have the work completed in the shortest possible time.

The Plateau Publishers Association (PPA) gave the Governor an award for Peace Building and Reconciliation in Plateau for his outstanding performance in addressing the challenges that once gave Plateau a bad name.

PLATEAU STATE IS DETERMINED TO TACKLE LAND GRABBING__GOVERNOR LALONG

Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau on Saturday said his adminstration is  determined to tackle land grabbing in the state .

Answering questions from newsmen in Jos on Saturday ,he said we recently  signed the anti-land grabbing, kidnapping and cultism bill recently passed by the House of Assembly into law.

“As a responsible government, we cannot fold our arms and watch our people terrorised by criminals, who are clearly out to cause mayhem ,he further added .

He said his adminstration has relocated so many Internally Displaced Persons IDPS to their ancestral homes and would continue to carter for the needs of the people of the state .

Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong has said that the Yakubu Gowon airport has been approved  as  an international cargo airport.

He made this known while speaking with newsmen in Jos .

Governor Simon Lalong told newsmen  in Jos  on Saturday that  his administration’s emphasis is on agriculture and he has the mandate to assist farmers to boost their produce by facilitating the process of them reaching their market,hence, the plan to build perishable cargo terminal at the Jos airport, which  already has been approved  as an International Cargo Airport by the Federal Government .

After taking engineers round the installation cites for the 300 solar street lights Gagdi has secured for PKK, which work have commence, the lawmaker had graced the FCE Pankshin NAPSS Cultural Day, where he made cash donations of 1 million Naira for the roofing of NAPSS Secretariat and 500 thousand Naira for the school’s NAPSS Cultural Dancers and a direct Belgium 406 vehicle for the association for smooth running of its activities.

As the keynote Speaker, Gagdi admonishes the students to prioritize their academic activities above other extracurricular activities, noting that their future is largely dependent on what they make of their time in the institution.

The lawmaker assured the students that he was ever willing and ready to heqrken to any call that would add value to the lives of the students and enhance their academic pursuit.

As a one time student of the institution, Gagdi indulges the students not to despise the days of little beginning, as God alone will crown theirs efforts with the success they desire.

The lawmaker avoided political statements through out his keynote address, while maintaining that when the coast is clear for electioneering activities, every politician will answer his father’s name.

The workaholic lawmaker dispatched venue of the Cultural Day to attend wedding ceremonies of some of his constituents within the constituency and other engagements for the day.

Meanwhile installation of the 300 solar street lights has commenced simultaneously in the various benefitting communities, with the view to meeting dateline for the completion of the project as encapsulated in the contract terms to last 1 week commencing from yesterday.

Plateau state Governor Simon Lalong on Saturday said his adminstration is determined to complete projects he started .

Lalong made this known while speaking at a media parley with newsmen in Jos .

He further stressed that he will complete projects he initiated before leaving office in 2023.

Lalong further said that his adminstration is seeking ways to ensure that the terminus market is rebuilt .

He also expressed his determination to sanction any erring contractor .

Lalong further said that Construction work would commence at the Plateau state Secretariat of the State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) from next week .
