Prince Rotdunna Sekat, a former Special Assistant to the Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Barr. Simon Bako Lalong KSGG has revalidated his membership with All Progressives Congress (APC) in his polling unit 001 Kor, Belning Ward Headquarters of Pankshin Local Government Area of Plateau State. Prince Rotdunna Sekat, a Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Rt. Honorable Yusuf Adamu Gagdi on Media and Publicity and also a son of the soil arrived the polling unit around 9.30am, holds a brief meeting with the leadership of the party at the unit, and in his usual character, throws jokes, and the elderly and the youths laughs their sorrows out, he was granted an express right of way to register amidst cheers from his supporters. Prince Sekat said; I have fulfilled my civic responsibility as a stakeholder of APC in my unit, Ward, Pankshin North, Pankshin LGA and Plateau State as a whole, he advise them to hold onto APC as it’s the only party that has Nigerians at heart. A large number of APC members who were on ground includes the Ward Women leader, Unit Chairman and many others, Prince Sekat thereafter visited his father, The Ngolong Kor, Belning Ward Headquarters at the Palace and spend some time before departure.
Retired Comptroller of Customs, Victor Dimka, has formally joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau, describing APC as the party to beat.
Dimka registered with the party at Kabwir Pada Ward of Kanke Local Government Area of the state on Saturday.
The retired comptroller, who served in different formations including Comptroller, Seme Border Command, said he decided to join the APC after careful research into the activities of political parties in the country. “The process into any political party is the registration into the party and today is my first step and first day in the APC.
“I have checked, studied the different manifestos and made researches into the activities of all the political parties existing in the country today.
“I realised that even the blind can see and even the deaf can hear that APC is the party to beat.
“APC has brought dividends of democracy to many Nigerians including Plateau people and I made up my mind to join the like minds making such possible and that is why I am here today,” he said.
The former comptroller of forwarding Operation Unit (FOU) Zone C of Customs, said that after his personal research of political parties, he also consulted widely.
He stated that his intention as a man of the people was to contribute to the growth of his community, Kanke local government area, Plateau and Nigeria.
On his next line of action, the retired comptroller who is a fellow of National Security Institute said he was still consulting.
“I am still consulting, what I know is that a journey of 1000 miles begins with a step and this is the step that I have just taken,” he said.
He commended Gov. Simon Lalong and members of the State House of Assembly for their efforts in the provision of dividends of democracy to Plateau people.
Dimka said that governance was a continuum and that Lalong had played his part well, particularly in the execution of his legacy projects spread across the state.
He described the APC membership registration and revalidation as a worthy exercise that would help the party to get the data of its members.
He urged the people of the area and the state to come out in large numbers to register with the APC as there might be no second chance.
Kabwir Pada Ward APC Chairman, Mr Philip Jelek, said the APC was excited to have somebody of Victor Dimka’s pedigree in its fold.
Jelek said the arrival of Dimka would no doubt strengthen in APC in Kabwir Pada Ward, Kanke local government, Plateau and Nigeria.
According to him, the party is expecting more new members because of its outstanding performance over the years and its willingness to accommodate everyone.
He said that the registration/revalidation exercise was going on smoothly in the area.
Governor Simon Bako Lalong has approved the appointment of Chairmen and Members of Boards, Parastatals, Commissions and Governing Councils of Tertiary institutions in Plateau State.
Governor Lalong said the members have been appointed based on their experience, track record of achievements and loyalty to the State and the APC Rescue Administration.
He charges them to bring to bear their wealth of experience in giving direction and focus to the Boards, Parastatals, Commissions and Governing Councils with a view to ensuring that the vision of the government is achieved.
Governor Lalong said their appointment is coming at a time when the State is dealing with COVID-19 and its economic consequences which has necessitated the harnessing of the human and natural potentials of the State to mitigate the situation and deliver the dividends of democracy to the citizens.
While wishing them success in their new assignments, the Governor advised them to be guided by the extant laws and provisions guiding their appointments and avoid any act that will stifle the activities of the agencies under their supervision.
Details of the appointments will be released by the Secretary to Government of the State Danladi Abok Atu.

SEN. PROF. NORA LADI DADU’UT ADVOCATES FOR RESEACH AND PROPER INTELLIGENCE GATHERING IN THE FIGHT AGAINST INSECURITY.
The senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District has stressed the need for research and proper intelligence gathering in the fight against insecurity in Nigeria. The senator made her position known at Plenary on the 10th of February 2021.
The day’s proceedings started at 10:52am while the Senate moved into a closed door session at 10:53am, however, the senate resumed from its closed door session at 11:26am.
The Senate President Dr. Ahmed Lawan, PhD reported that at the closed-door session, the senate deliberated on the issues bordering on workings of the Nigerian Senate in particular and the National Assembly in general.
The proceeding at the floor of the senate among other things included deliberations on public petitions, presentation of bills, executive communications, presentation and consideration of reports.
On the motion on general insecurity in Nigeria by Senator Ajayi Borrofice and 104 others, Sen. Prof Nora Ladi Dadu’ut added her voice to the general insecurity in the country, she thus, advocated for research in the fight against insecurity. While speaking at the floor of the senate, Sen. Prof. Nora said ‘’What we need to do in this case is to go into research on the causes and come up with something that will help to alleviate this problem’’.
The senate however, resolved to urge the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR to direct the National Security Adviser and the newly nominated service chiefs and the Inspector General of Police to device a proposal to rejig the nation’s security architecture and disposition of forces for more effective counter measures against the current security challenges particularly in the rural areas.

KADPOLY ALUMNI VISIT GOVERNOR LALONG, ASKS FOR INTERVENTION OF NORTHERN GOVERNORS
Plateau State Governor and Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum Simon Bako Lalong has recieved the National Executives of the Kaduna State Polytechnic Alumni Association who were in his office to brief him on the state of affairs in the Institution.
Governor Lalong said the school which is one of the reputable Polytechnics in Nigeria and Africa was conceived by the then leaders of the Northern Region as a hub for producing technical manpower for the region and Nigeria at large.
He said over the years, the Institution has produced great persons who have distinguished themselves in various careers including technical areas across the world.
The Governor said the school has unfortunately suffered the lack of adequate funding and physical development commensurate with student population which has grown geometrically over the years.
Lalong noted that although the only way to immortalise the Founding Fathers of Northern Nigeria is through the revival of the legacy projects they left behind to serve the needs of citizens such as the Kaduna Polytechnic.
National President of the KADPOLY Alumni Association Abbas said the famous citadel of learning, with over two million members at home and in the diaspora, has produced eminent Nigerians in all spheres of human endeavor, but is now facing alot of challenges.
He said the Alumni Association is embarking on nation wide visits to critical players in order to canvas support towards reviving the dwindling fortunes of the Institution.
The alumni President told Governor Simon Lalong that though the school is owned by the Federal Government, most of its students come from the Northern States and as such, the Northern Governors Forum should take interest in its development and further growth.

Newly appointed Nigerian Ambassador to Cote d’Ivoire Martin Adamu, a career diplomat from Plateau State on Wednesday 10th February 2021 visited Governor Simon Bako Lalong at the new Government House, Little Rayfield Jos.
Ambassador Adamu told Governor Lalong that he was at the Government house to pay his respects to the Governor and appreciate the support of his administration and the people of Plateau State throughout his diplomatic journey which culminated in his appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari.
He assured Governor Lalong that he was determined to represent Nigeria with all excellence and patriotism as he has over the years recieved the training for the task ahead.
Martin said although his primary assignment was to protect the interests of Nigeria and Nigerians in his country of assignment, he will do all within his power to also ensure that opportunities for investment and development are attracted to States including Plateau.
While wishing him well in his new assignment, Governor Lalong said the people of Plateau State were happy that he has been conscientious and diligent in his duties to have attained the zenith as Ambassador.
He expressed confidence that the Ambassador will succeed in his assignment amd bring pride to Nigeria and Plateau State just as his late father Gen. Martin Martin Adamu did during his military career.
He asked him to do all within his capacity to sell Nigeria and Plateau State to the world and assist in projecting the return of peace and stability to the State which is ready to receive investors and tourists from within and outside the nation.
