NIGERIAN ARMY TO EXPAND DRUG MANUFACTURING COMPANY CAPACITY….as COAS performs groundbreaking ceremony of the new site.

By Prince Sekat, Jos

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya has on Wednesday 7 September 2022 performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Nigerian Army Drug Manufacturing Company ( NADMACO) new site at Nigerian Army (NA) Cantonment Epe in Lagos state, as part of efforts to expand NADMACO production capacity towards servicing the medical needs of the NA, the Armed Forces of Nigeria and the civil populace.

Performing the groundbreaking ceremony, the COAS stated that the establishment of NADMACO in 1994 became expedient in order to meet quality and affordable pharmaceutical needs of personnel, as well as curtail the dangers of adulterated drugs faced by personnel and their families. He averred that provision of adequate healthcare is a critical aspect of a soldier’s welfare, hence it is imperative to continue to improve the medical facilities of the NA. Gen Yahaya observed further, that the increased engagement of NA personnel in various theatres of operations across the country, necessitates the upgrading and expansion of the pharmaceutical company.

Speaking at the event, the Group Managing Director, Nigerian Army Welfare Limited by Guarantee (NALW/G), Major General Adekola Bakare disclosed that NA entered into private partnership to reposition the company for improved performance and production, which he said, had declined over the years, resulting from obsolete equipment and heightening cost of production.

The Managing Director, UZ Carlson Pharmaceutical Company, Mr Callistus Okafor, who is the Board Chairman of NADMACO, noted that the joint venture would upscale production within the next five years. He pointed out, that the pharmaceutical company would ostensibly mitigate the challenges of fake drugs and produce high-quality drugs of commercial value to promote local content.

Meanwhile, the COAS had earlier in the day commissioned various projects at the Nigerian Army Ordnance School in Epe Cantonment. The projects include Student Officers’ and Soldiers’ hostels comprising two blocks of 20 flats for officers and 2
dormitories for soldiers. He also commissioned the School’s Regimental Sergeant Major’s (RSM) official residence, as part of ongoing NA welfare program to provide suitable accommodation for RSMs in all Army formations.

Present during the ceremony were Principal Staff Officers from Army Headquarters, Corps Commanders, the GOC 81 Division, Council of Chiefs from Epeland, Chairman Epe Local Government Area and a host of others.

DOES PKK NEED TO TEST THE MIC ON RT HON YUSUF ADAMU GAGDI FOR 2023?

DOES PKK NEED TO TEST THE MIC ON RT HON YUSUF ADAMU GAGDI FOR 2023?

Those who work on sounds always have a way of assuring the audience that they may not be disappointed with the equipment in the course of an event.

Events may not meet the standards set for those attending because microphones sometimes fail to function and the impact may not be felt. Most times people return home variously disappointed.

Imagine the fact that your representative is not able to deliver; and can not stand up for you when it matters most. Surely, several questions may be asked; most times, regretting why such a one was sent to represent a people.

The Mic in PKK was long tested in 2019. It became noticeable that its functionality was not in doubt. Except for those who refuse(d) to listen, and pay attention, the majority of the constituents saw the efficacy and the quality of the man they sent to Abuja in more ways than the.

If Rt Hon Yusuf Adamu Gagdi became an instant success, it was because he went prepared to serve. He arrived at the Green Chamber of the National Assembly willing to make an impact and not to warm the benches and disappoint his people in the end.

Notice the quality of representation he brought to bear, imagine the communities, students, men, youth, and women of various persuasions who are indebted to the services he has provided for the Federal Constituency.

If his services and efforts are recognized and assented to even at the highest level of governance in the land; without doubt his people did not vote him in vain in 2019.

With an eye for a return in 2023, there is no mincing words, the Mic would be louder and equally rewarding to all communities in PKK. Every community, have been assured, are in his debt to change the face of their problems if they Vote Gagdi Again (VOGA) in next year’s election.

If he did in his first tenure, PKK can be sure that the best is yet on the way, knowing so because we have always trusted in God.

NSCDC PLATEAU STATE CONDEMNS ACTION OF AN OVER ZEALOUS PERSONNEL

By Prince Sekat,Jos

The attention of Plateau State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has been drawn to a publication in the media about an unfortunate and regrettable incident of assault on one Mrs. Joy Owolabi, a shop owner around the Nanmua Junction of Abattoir in Jos, Plateau State by a personnel of the Corps.

Worried by this unfortunate incident, the State Commandant, Alexander Bissa Barunde, who described the incident as barbaric, unfortunate, regrettable and uncivilised has since directed a full investigation into the matter to ascertain the real identity of the suspect.

The State Commandant assured the general public that, he would invoke internal disciplinary mechanism of the Corps to deal with the officer involved in this babaric act against a harmless and helpless woman.

He condemned the act and wondered why an officer of the Command will condescend to the point of inflicting bodily harm on a woman under any circumstances.

Barunde affirmed the Corps’ commitment to the protection of lives and property of the citizens, stating that this is just an isolated case of an overzealous officer and the matter would be pursued to a logical conclusion and the concerned officer brought to book.

While apologising to the family of the woman concerned, he assured that the matter would not be swept under the carpet but that, decisive action will be taken against the culprit as soon as the outcome of the investigation is made available to him and the culprit identified.

He warned that he will not condone any indiscipline from any officers of the Command and charged them to remain civil in approach while carrying out their lawful duties.

He cautioned his personnel to be professional and to respect the fundamental human rights of the citizens because henceforth, any report of human right abuse by any civilian will attract very stringent punishment.

BEYOND MERE TOKENISM,RT HON YUSUF ADAMU GAGDI HAS SET THE BENCHMARK FOR REPRESENTATION

By Prince Sekat, Jos

It has been stated that politicians must have productive ideas to enable them change the course of the nation; even as they must make sure that they understand their environment if they want to play a role in the lives of the people.

This assertion was made by Prof Pam Dung Sha at the Tamara Event Center where the Nigeria Union ofJournalists, Plateau State Council on Thursday September 1, 2022 engaged in a discourse: Beyond Politicking: Harnessing Plateau Potentials.

Rt Hon Yusuf Adamu Gagdi whose presence was felt in representative capacity told the audience that he has remained a friend of the media having copiously reported his activities over the years.

Talking about having productive ideas and knowing the environment, Rt Hon Yusuf Adamu Gagdi has remained one of the politicians seeking political office who has remained conversant with his constituents as well as their problems.

When you listen to him reel out the names, locations, problems identified and what he has been able to do in the 36 Federal Wards of PKK, you would think he was born in the three local government areas of the Federal Constituency at the same time.

Little wonder, that he has been able to visit the 36 Federal Wards repeatedly for upward of four times and in some cases even more, is an excellent indication of a representative that is bonded to his people.

This explains why as a result of identifying a number of problems facing PKK in the last three and half years of robust representation, who having turned them into practical reality of concrete solutions, his numerous projects are replete in communities.

Gagdi’s strides many know, are unprecedented, surpassing the expectations of his traducers. He has continued in the area of welfare for the people, socio-economic development, empowerment, contruction of different projects which has no equal in the history of the constituency.
