YAKUBU JANG AND CLINTON GARUBA: FACES OF THE NEW CABAL RUNNING PDP ON THE PLATEAU

YAKUBU JANG & CLINTON GARUBA: Faces of the New Cabal running PDP on the Plateau.

Former Governor Jonah Jang, his son Yakubu Jang and Clinton Garuba, Jang Media Consultant and Manager of JAY FM 101.9 visit to Port-Harcourt recently to see Governor Nyesom Wike has been criticised by many PDP faithfuls who alleged it is another avenue to collect more money for Campaigns without the Governorship Candidate of the PDP Caleb Mutfwang in attendance.

Remember, when Wike Visited Plateau State before PDP Presidential Primaries, there were wranglings about how the dollars given developed wings.

A lot of PDP faithfuls allege that these were the same people that singlehandedly picked the Governorship and Deputy Governorship Candidates of the PDP in their House and convinced Dara Jang to do their bidding.

A flash back to the recent PDP Gubernatorial Primaries has it that it was Wike’s Dollars that did the magic of delivering Caleb Mutfwang when it was obvious Kefiano was coasting home to victory,he ended up in second position despite joining the PDP few months to the Primaries, it was Wike that saved the Jang Camp from imminent disgrace as Dara does not give Money to those he supports, a concerned PDP member laments.

It is even alleged in some quarters that Ngo Josephine Piyo is a place holder to be replaced soon by the cabals.

It is also instructive to note that this faction spearheaded by the duo of Yakubu and Clinton has hijacked all key positions in the PDP leaving PDP stalwarts like J.T Useni,Fidelis Tapgun,I.D Gyang,Eddie Pwajok,D.T Sango to lick their wounds in perpetual non-inclusion.

The recent resignation of Pamson Dagyat ,a staunch supporter of Baba Jang may not be unconnected to the dominance of Yakubu Jang and Clinton Garuba who have hijacked the running of the PDP with the Chairman Chris Hassan doing their bidding.

This has sent shivers and mutual suspicion amongst PDP faithfuls who fear that the Governorship candidate might just be a puppet in the hands of the over ambitious cabals.

Many PDP faithfuls promise to resist this tactical imposition and continuation of a political dynasty that is self centered and deceitful.

Attempts by this writer to reach the duo at the time of this report proved abortive.

JUST IN: PDP’s ADEMOLA ADELEKE WINS OSUN GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION

Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party has emerged victorious in Osun’s governorship elections, defeating Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress.

The results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission registered that out of the votes counted across the state, Mr Adeleke received 403,371, unseating the incumbent, who scored 375,027 votes.

The ruling party APC won 13 LGAs while the PDP won 17 LGAs

Mr Adeleke’s good showing had been apparent throughout voting hours across the southwestern state on Saturday.

Mr Adeleke’s win at Osogbo Local Government Area, receiving 30,401 votes out of the total 54,997 cast votes, while Mr Oyetola garnered 22,952 votes. He also made inroads into other opposition strongholds, including in Ile-Ife, where he pulled a surprise in Ife North Local Government Area.

The candidate’s victory was also buttressed by the inability of the ruling APC to garner as many votes as it anticipated from Iyiola Omisore’s stronghold in Ile-Ife. Mr Omisore used his popularity in Ile-Ife to deliver a slim victory for Mr Oyetola in 2018 after his third-party candidacy forced a run-off between the APC and PDP.

In this cycle, Mr Adeleke retained the support of his nephew David ‘Davido’ Adeleke and top PDP politicians like Atiku Abubakar, Bukola Saraki and some party governors. Messrs Nyesom Wike and Seyi Makinde shunned Mr Adeleke’s campaign over undisclosed grudges.

The opposition had touted the exercise as a harbinger of the 2023 general elections, in which Nigerians faced the question of whether to remove or retain the party in power.

The ruling APC had downplayed expectations about the message Nigerians are likely to hold from the election’s outcome, saying it should not be seen as a referendum on its overall popularity, which it maintained was growing.

Mr Adeleke, a former senator who was the PDP’s governorship candidate in the 2018 cycle, emerged as the party’s guber choice on March 10 after slugging it out with Dotun Babayemi.

Messrs Adeleke and Oyetola had sought the job in 2018. The election was initially declared inconclusive by INEC, and a rerun was slated on 27 September 2018. Mr Oyetola was declared the winner after the run-off. At the final count, Mr Adeleke polled 255,023, losing with less than 500 votes to Mr Oyetola, who scored 255,505 and was returned elected.

Mr Adeleke challenged the result as fraught with irregularities and ruling party tampering, but the Supreme Court affirmed Mr Oyetola’s victory on July 5, 2019.

GOV ZULUM ALLOTS 259 HOUSES,110 MILLION TO BORNO POLICE

Zulum allots 259 houses, N110 million to Borno police

… IGP calls Governor’s support enormous

Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, on Thursday in Maiduguri, announced government’s allocation of 259 houses and the release of N110m to the Nigerian Police Force in the state.

Zulum made the announcement during the commissioning of Borno’s branch of the Nigerian Police Force Microfinance Bank (NPFM Bank).

The Microfinance bank is designed to provide financial services to aid small and medium enterprises for police families, their affiliates and civilians in Borno State.

The Bank’s unveiling in Maiduguri was attended by the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba Alkali.

Before the unveiling, Zulum explained that the allocation of over 259 houses to the police was meant to compensate the state command for government’s use of some portions of land belonging to the police, for development of some infrastructures in the state capital.

On the N110 million he announced, the governor said that 50% of it, which amounts to N55m, was Borno’s contribution as share deposit aimed at enhancing the bank’s operations at the starting stage.

The rest amount of N55m, Zulum further explained, was to be used in supporting families of police personnel in two ways.

The first, Zulum said, was the use of N25 million to be shared to families of police personnel who died in active service.

He ordered that the money be deposited in an account dedicated to educational needs of children left behind by the fallen police personnel.

The balance of N30 million, the governor said, will be deposited into a credit services account for the purpose of supporting policewomen serving across Borno State.

Zulum commended IGP Alkali for unveiling Borno’s branch of the bank which he said, indicated the IGP’s prioritization of police welfare.

The governor alongside the IGP, the bank’s board members and some top police officers, unveiled the branch by a symbolic cutting of a tape.

… IGP calls Zulum’s support enormous

In his remark before the commissioning, Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba Alkali, described Governor Zulum’s support towards the Nigerian Police Force as enormous.

“Your Excellency, we want to thank you for the logistics the state command is getting to function effectively in crime prevention and control. I am aware that the only state that got six armoured personnel carriers and handed them over to the police is Borno State. We want to sincerely thank you for taking our trouble, for being kind to us, for being generous to us, for coming to our assistance in terms of providing welfare and working tools”, the IGP said.

The IGP was accompanied to the event by the Board Chairman of the microfinance bank, Azubuko Joel Udah, the bank’s Managing Director, Mr Akin Lawal and top police chiefs while Zulum went along with Secretary to Borno State Government, Usman Jidda Shuwa, some members of Borno State Executive Council, among other government officials.

NENTAWE IS A MAN OF INFLUENCE AND CHARACTER__written by David Golepji Wambutda

By Prince Sekat, Jos

The essence of influence is the ability to propel people to take action and effect change you can’t lead if you can’t influence and genuine followers are only influenced by leaders of character which Dr Nentawe epitomizes.

We are yet to have a record in the recent history of a political leader that is loved by devotees of a different faith, ethnic, political party lines and or social strata. A political value he does not take for granted.

His choice of the campaign slogan Generation Next depicts the growing agitation by the millennials and Gen Z who form the chunk of the voting population that is enthusiastic about an improvement in their quality of life. This population of interest is part of the bulk of youths who Dr Nentawe has intentionally influenced over the years. Little wonder a lot of them are picking the idea and running with it to the streets with ease and love.

He is genuine about what he craves to do differently if elected as Governor in Plateau State come 2023 and has effectively communicated them to all and sundry. He has spoken extensively on bringing solutions and achievable results via his ACEES Agenda as captured via http://www.drnentawe.org

His influence is dwindling the fortunes of the opposition to provide political contestation and electoral competition thus they are aggressively capitalizing on mundane religious and ethnic considerations and character assassination to make their case in a contest that has provided a theatre where ideas and issue-based discussions will flourish.

Plateau is desirous of a Technocrat to blow out her socio-economic potential and Dr Nentawe has spoken and is engaging extensively from Plateau’s economic vantage point.

His choice of a younger, vibrant and charismatic running mate Hon. Pam Botmang resonates with hope and progress as he brings to the table energy, experience, exposure and the spirit of Plateau amongst other sterling qualities.

The rousing welcome accorded him at the homecoming liturgy by the enormous crowd that came in solidarity from the nooks and crannies of Plateau state and beyond, the prayers offered and the rhythm from the renditions, chants, drums, and flutes rolled out at his instance echoes sounds of the emerging victory towards a secured, united and a prosperous Plateau State.
