HON YUSUF ADAMU GAGDI HAS BEATEN THE BLUEPRINT SET FOR HIM BY PKK __NDE JOHN GOBAK

HON. GAGDI HAS BEATEN THE BLUEPRINT SET FOR HIM BY PKK – GOBAK
A former Secretary to Plateau State Government, and an elder statesman, Chief John Gobak mni, OFR, has showered accolades on the member representing Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam (PKK) Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Gagdi, over his achievements as a federal legislator.
Speaking to THE BEACON in his office today, Gobak said that Gagdi’s performance in the Green Chamber of the National Assembly, and what he did to improve the welfare of his constituents is beyond their (PKK constituents) expectations and has the blueprint initiated for him by his constituents drawn from Pankshin, Kanke and Kanam Local Government Areas.
According to him, when Gagdi newly won his election in 2019, he enlisted him (Gobak) as head of the team that will come up with a blueprint of what his constituents will like to be done for them. And he (Gobak) asked Gagdi why he wanted to kill his political career, knowing fully well that any blueprint presented to him, will serve as a yardstick of judging his performance. He said, “I asked Gagdi whether he will be able to accomplish all that will be prepared for him as a blueprint. He gave me the assurance that he will be able. We then set out to work by nominating from each local government of the federal constituency those that will come up with a very good and life bettering blueprint. After completing their assignment, we presented to him as a document and he launched it in Pankshin.”
Beyond our wildest imagination Gobak went on, Gagdi did remarkably well more than what was enunciated for him. “
On the issue of a single term of four years in office being advocated for by some of Gagdi’s constituents, Gobak said, “The All Progressives Congress, APC, has given Pankshin the Senate ticket of Plateau Central Senatorial District to Pankshin, the Governorship Ticket to Kanke and the House of Reps of PKK to Kanam. The party faithful of PKK deems it fit to return Gagdi for a second term based on his remarkable achievements. This has balanced the equation. Those saying there shouldn’t be second tenure for Gagdi, which local government would they want to take double ratio, and why would they want Kanam to go empty? The people of Kanam have presented him as the person whom they want to fill in their portion, and they are not complaining, why would someone from Pankshin or Kanke complain? Is the Senate and Governorship not enough for them? Is politics not give and take?”
Furthermore, he said that reward system is an active ingredient in boosting the morale of elective office holders to do more. “Gagdi has made a very great impact on the lives of his constituents and we are praying that he will do more if he wins again, “he added.

We are working with other stakeholders especially the security agencies to see how to help farmers. This is the time that farmers would need a lot of our support and assurance to produce food for the nation”.

WASE KILLINGS; VILLAGERS RECOVER EIGHT CORPSES AFTER BANDITS ATTACK

“As Senator Daduut fumes, urge security agencies to intensify efforts to investigate the matter”

By Golok Nanmwa, Jos

Operation Safe Haven, deployed to restore law and order in Plateau, on Tuesday, confirmed that bandits attacked Angwan Bashar community and another community in Kanam Local Government Area of the State.

Military Information Officer Major Ishaku Takwa Takwa told newsmen in Jos that after the attacks by the bandits on the two communities were repelled by the troops in conjunction with the local vigilante group, eight corpses belonging to the bandits were recovered by the villagers.

Takwa said, “What happened was that there was an attack by bandits yesterday in the night on Angwa Bashar in Kanam LGA.”

“Before our troops arrived with heavy gunfire, the vigilante men were already engaging the bandits. So, the troops in conjunction with the vigilante men were able to repel the attack. But as the attack in Angwan Bashar was going on, we received information that another set of bandits was attacking another village within the council area.”

“So our troops withdrew from Angwan Bashar and moved to the said community and repelled the attack. After the operation, the villagers told us that they recovered eight corpses but our troops did not suffer any casualty.”

Takwa, who described the onslaught against the bandits in the two communities as successful, called on the people to always provide the military and other security agents with timely information to enable them to protect the people.

“A criminal is a criminal. All that is going on in that area is criminality, whether cattle rustling, kidnapping, or attack on a community. They are all the same. All that we need is for the people to let us know in time about the activities of these criminals so that we can deal with the situation,” the Military Information Officer added.

One of the vigilante men, who participated in repelling the attacks, Tasiu Ibrahim, said that before the attack on their communities, the bandits had given them quit notice to vacate their area.

Ibrahim said, “We got the quit notice last week Tuesday where the bandits said we must leave our villages or they will kill all of us. We also learnt that similar quit notices were served on other villages by the bandits.”

“We don’t know where we are going to run to and everyone knows that those people do not make empty threats. But we thank God that they did not succeed when they eventually tried to carry out their threat to kill all of us. Instead, some of them were the ones who died because we recovered about eight of their corpses after they attacked us.”

Reacting to the development, the Senator representing Plateau South, Prof. Nora Daduut, lamented the insecurity in some parts of Kanan and Wase LGAs and called on security operatives to come to the rescue of the people in the affected communities.

“As the senator representing Plateau South, I urge security agencies to intensify efforts to investigate the matter with the aim of bringing perpetrators to book and as well deploy drones and helicopters to monitor forests around Plateau South senatorial district, to identify illegal camps of armed bandits throughout the country.

“I also seek for collaboration amongst various security agencies on intelligence gathering and call on the people of my senatorial district to be security conscious.”
