An ardent youth and foundation member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State, Hon. Katlong Simon has congratulated the winner of the just concluded Presidential primary Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu for clinching the ticket to fly the flag of the largest political party in Africa in the forthcoming presidential election slated for February 25th, 2022.

Mr Katlong made his congratulatory note available to his media team in Jos while x-raying the exercise which according to him, was adjudged to be free, fair, credible and acceptable to all the aspirants and the teeming members of the APC as well as true lovers of genuine democracy.

He applauded the untiring efforts made by the convention Planning committee led by H. E the governor of Imo state Hope uzodinma whose team ensured a level playing ground for all the aspirants before, during and after the primary .

He reiterated that the clarity and fairness with which the exercise took place is an indication that the APC is ever ready to continue with the leadership of this great nation.

He implored all other aspirants who lost to accept it in good faith and work towards the success of the party in the presidential as well as other elections.

He equally urged the winners at all levels to be magnanimous in victory and ensure that the olive branch is extended to other aspirants for the greater good of the party .

He emphasized that the party is a collective project for all members to continue to build hence the need for all to put all hands on deck to ensure resounding victory for the ruling party at all levels.

He prayed for continuous understanding by all party faithfuls and for genuine reconciliation of all aggrieved members (where possible) so that the party will be more formidable and ready for the task ahead.

GOVERNOR LALONG TO SWEAR IN NEW HIGH COURT JUDGES

His Excellency, Governor Simon Bako Lalong will swear in 4 new Judges of the Plateau State High Court and a Khadi of the Sharia Court of Appeal tomorrow Thursday 9th June 2022.

The newly appointed Judges are to be sworn in at an event scheduled to hold at the New Government House, Little Rayfield Jos by 12 noon.

All invited guests are expected to be punctual.

Am not being sponsored By Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi or Any Body To Contest PKK house of representatives Election as being circulated in the social media and some mischief makers my manifesto speaks for me. This was made known in a press briefing by Hon. Ephraim Usman to clear the air over the rumours going round in the social media about his being sponsored by hon. Gagdi.

According to Hon. Ephraim ordinarily, I wouldn’t have even contemplated joining issues over a write-up by faceless person since in democracy, freedom of expression is encouraged to deepening the process. However, the said piece on the social media and being used to campaign against me is not even an opinion on my aspiration but outright falsehood, spurious, misplaced and malicious aimed at character assassination.

The said write-up and rumors summarizes the best definition of mischief. To further exhibit the motive, intend and purpose behind the malicious machinations, the sponsor of the write-up cooked up my being sponsored by hon. Gagdi or who ever. This is the height of insensitive, decay in moral occasioned by desperation.

Let me make it categorically clear that I have never been sponsored or supported by hon. Yusuf Gagdi The public is hereby, strongly advise to disregard the said rumors. Those who know me closely would attest to the fact that I am a man of the people owing to my background as a well cultured man. In my years of sojourn in the political terrain, I have never received an endorsement by any person or group to succeed. My manifesto has always been my selling point and I have always believe in team work irrespective of ethnic or religious affiliation.

I have made it clear and would still want to state here that my interest in the House of Representatives is because it’s the more vibrant of the two chambers. Based on my orientation as a politician, I have realized that it’s the House of Reps that people express themselves most and it also affords one the opportunity to meet and network fellow Nigerians from various backgrounds and competencies. It is also where the strategic population is concentrated because it is where you have the younger people with multi disciplinary backgrounds, exuding energy and knowledge on how the country can be governed.

Consequently, I have a vision to offer service and collaborate with Nigerians to deliver on key areas that affect my Constituency. These are: Peace and Security and developmental projects to add value to the people of PKK.

Again, I want to be judged as a reformist. I have considered the activities of the legislature and I am interested in driving the reform process to make it better.

Finally, I appeal to all contesting not just for the PKK primaries Election but any other election to engage more in revealing what they have for the electorates rather than engaging in campaign of calumny aimed at destroying the reputation of others. How shall we see one another after an election campaign so richly built with hate, bitterness and indeed venom all in a bid to winning.Thank you all.

In this series today, I will look at the characteristic of the eagle.

I studied some birds sometime last year and I took interest in the EAGLE and came to realise that the eagle has some wonderful human traits.

The eagle is a bird that is bold, strong, courageous etc. It can stand alone and withstand the rigour of windstorm destruction.
It has eye sight-focus that enable it to see a distance of 5km above the sky level.

What Gagdi is; Is an EAGLE, just like the eagle.

What Gagdi is not will not be like the other birds who see challenges of windstorms and run away. Amid challenges, is where you see great men standing.

The hausa adage says “alkawari kaya ne” This is a very difficult task for humans when it is made and to be fulfilled.
Gagdi made promised to pay NECO, WAEC and NABTEB examinations to all private, public and missionary schools last year and promised to donate motorcycles to all APC party chairmen and secretaries of PKK when people thought they were delegates and wanted to be bribed.

People started saying he will not pay the fees and give the motorcycles

He paid the fees and donated the motorcycles this year even when the officials are not delegates as people thought it was intended as a bribe.


WHAT GAGDI IS; Is a promised keeper and keeps to his words.

COAS CHARGES COMMANDERS ON PROFESSIONALISM

The Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Farouk Yahaya has charged Commanders to be professional in the discharge their duties. The Chief of Army Staff gave the charge earlier today 7 June 2022, at the Dr Obi Wali International Conference Center while declaring open the Second Senior Command and Leadership Seminar 2022 holding in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The COAS who was represented by the Corps Commander, Infantry, Major General Victor Ezeugwu, charged the commanders to evolve workable solutions to tackle the myriad of security challenges confronting the nation. He urged them to evolve tactical and non tactical means to tackle contemporary security challenges.

Earlier, the Chief of Training, Army, Maj Gen Abdulsalami Ibrahim, stated that the seminar offers the opportunity to drive home the cardinal pillars of the COAS vision. The Chief of Training speaking further, described the operational environment as volatile, complex, uncertain and ambiguous. He added that for success to be made in such environment, senior leadership must be dynamic in it’s thinking.

The seminar has as it’s theme Building the Capacity of the Nigerian Army to meet Contemporary Security Challenges in a Joint Environment: The Role of Senior Leadership.

Earlier, while welcoming participants, the General Officer Commanding 6 Division Nigerian Army, Maj Gen Olufemi Oluyede stated that the contemporary threats confronting the nation calls for astute and innovative leadership competencies from commanders. He disclosed further that the seminar will equip senior commanders with the skills set to preserve the image of the Nigerian Army in an increasingly complex operating environment. He further thanked the COAS for providing the resources for hosting the seminar in the face of competing demands and scarce resources and wished everyone a very intellectual and rewarding deliberation.
