PRESS RELEASE:PLATEAU PUBLISHERS ASSOCIATION IS UNITED AND WAXING STRONGER DAY BY DAY__PPA ELCOM

PRESS RELEASE FROM PLATEAU PUBLISHERS ASSOCIATION

The leadership of the Plateau Publishers Association, (PPA) wish to inform the general public that the Plateau Publishers Association is united and waxing stronger by the day.

It is worthy of note and to put the records straight, that on Sunday 16 May, 2021 at it’s temporary office situated at Kalwa House Jos, the Plateau State Capital, at it’s general congress meeting which was preceded over by the former Chairman Mr Shabul Mazadu to give his stewardship report as his interim committee’s tenure of six months has few days to end precisely

It is worthy of note for the general public to know that a collective decision was taking by the majority of the congress members to dissolved the Mazadu’s led interim committee and set up a five man Electoral Committee (ELCOM), and the following persons emerged as the ELCOM members, 1: Chief Amos Gizo as Chairman, Mr. Daniel Kura, as Secretary, Chief Mrs Juan Eunuch as Financial secretary, Pastor Mrs Florence Emi Treasurer and Elder Yakubu Ajala as the Publicity Secretary, with the mandate to conduct election into various positions that will lead the Association for the period of three years as it is stipulated in the constitution of the Association.

However history has it that Mr Shabul Mazadu who always have penchant taste for power and believe that no one in this world can rule over him as he believes, he is the most intelligent person on earth, a power drunk as he, after administered and he declared to the congress the he will support ELCOM to succeed. And he has forgotten fact that his coming into PPA as Chairman was as a result of the removal of the former Chairman who was duly elected to serve the association for a period of three years, yet it was cut short at a year plus.

It is also worthy of note, that Mr Shabul Mazadu is always in a hurry to join any newly formed group that it’s leadership is yet to be form or elected with the hope of becoming the Chairman, and he will without delay or hesitation blackout as soon as the leadership is formed and he is not made the Chairman examples are: Plateau Independent Publishers Association (PIPA), Frontline Publishers, then back to PIPA, Publisher’s Forum and now Plateau Publishers Association (PPA).

Mr Mazadu left PPA twice, the first was immediately after he lost the Chairmanship of the association to Mr Hosea Nash Vondip and later agreed to come back immediately after some members of the Association went and met him and promised to made him the Chairman, which he graciously accepted with all gladness and actually return and he was made the Chairman something he will not tell the world.

Again, Mr Mazadu could not even pretend of his penchant taste for power even for a day, immediately the caretaker committee which he leading was dissolved, by the congress he immediately started lobbying some members of the Association to go and form a new association, where he will continue his power drunk altitude as its Chairman where he came up with his new association bragging that now he owns a new association and he comes up with names of people that even if one call him on phone to advice him on the decision he took he will write down your name as a member of his association.

The question here is can a man who does not and will never want to be led be a good leader? The answer is no, this Is a question for the public to answer.

Can someone who administered oath, someone who inaugurated and who declared openly his 100 percent support to the ELCOM in his word that he is a democrat and democracy is at work yet he acted contrary shortly after the meeting close, can such a person be trust?

On a final note PPA members did not know Mazadu to be someone who has penchant taste for power.

Mr Mazadu can never deny the fact that he his not a power drunk, and if he says otherwise let him step aside from his new formed association and appoint someone from his new group to lead and let the world see if he can stay a day in that association.

Signed

Mr. Daniel Kura
ELCOM Secretary
Plateau Publishers Association.

ASABA DECLARATION EXPOSES NORTHERN GOVERNORS’ FAILURE__CNG

The Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) yesterday said the last week’s declaration by 17 southern governors in Asaba, Delta State, exposed the total failure of northern governors to speak up for the rights of northerners.

The CNG, in a statement in Abuja yesterday by its spokesman, Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, accused the northern governors for failing to provide quality leaders within their domains.null

“The Asaba meeting has exposed the extent of the bankruptcy of northern governors who have not, for once, met to take concrete steps to anticipate and checkmate the maneuvers of the south, particularly with the creation of such armed outfits as the Amotekun, Eastern Security Network and recently the Ebubeagu which are now the tools used to intimidate northerners in the South and to challenge the Nigerian State.

“It also exposed the total failure of the northern governors in the vital area of speaking up for the rights of northerners to be protected from illegal harassment where they earn their living; their rights to places of worship, and their rights to full protection when they live as minorities among other communities in Nigeria.null

“The southern governors typically neglected to acknowledge that just as development and population growth has put pressure on available land and increased the prospects of conflict between migrating herders and local populations, so also has the mass movement of millions of people from the south into the vast interior of the North and the permanent nature of this movement,” the statement read in part.

The CNG also urged the Federal Government to design a National Policy on Grazing and Livestock Development to deal with the needs of herdsmen community across the country.
