Senator representing Plateau South at the National Assembly, Professor Nora Ladi Dadu’ut on Tuesday described the state Governor Simon Lalong as bridge builder who is determined to take Plateau to greater heights .

This was contained in a statement  made available to newsmen in Jos while  felicitating   with the  Governor  of the state Barrister Simon Lalong  as he clocks 58 on Wednesday .

The statement reads that I Senator Prof Dame Nora  Dadu’ut  representing Plateau South in the National Assembly  is   always wiling to  partner with the Simon Lalong led adminstration to make the state  better .

 She said “Governor Lalong who is also the Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum is  a committed patriot and a bridge builder who has    contributed immensely to the growth and development of Plateau as well as   patriotic, purposeful, dedicated and committed to issues that affect the country .”

It is my prayer that God continues to protect him  and imbue him with even greater drive, intellect, and good health as he continues to serve not just Plateau  state  ,Northern Nigeria but our great nation at large ,the statement further added .

Governor Simon Bako Lalong has assured the Management team of newly established Federal Polytechnic in Shendam Local Government Area that the Plateau State government will give evey support needed for success of the school.

Gov. Simon Lalong gave the  assurance when he recieved the Rector of the Institution Dr. Mukaila Ya’u who led other members of the Management team to visit him at the Government House Rayfield Jos.

He said Plateau State was happy to have another tertiary institution that has a mandate of providing quality academic and entreprenerial skills to Nigerians.

The Rector disclosed that they were in Plateau with a clear vision and mission, to develop a world class Polytechnic which would provide quality academic, professional and entreprenerial skills to the students.

He said the gesture would empower them to make positive impact in the technological  and socio-economic development of the country.

” Our goal is to produce innovative graduates  both at the National Diploma and Higher National Diploma levels, worthy of skills and character through effective  teaching,  learning and  research for the technological advancement of our great country Nigeria,” he said.

He thanked the governor for his support in the establishment of the Institution, saying, the gesture is  critical  to facilitate its smooth takeoff and operations.

He also appealed to the Governor to provide a site with infrastructure for the takeoff, housing accommodation, office furniture and vehicles for principal officers
to enable them coordinate the operations of the institution.

The Executive Governor of Plateau State Rt. Hon. (Dr) Simon Bako Lalong, KSGG will inaugurate the Chairmen and Members of Boards, Parastatals, Commissions and Governing Councils recently appointed on Tuesday 4th May 2021.

The Event will take place at the Vitoria Gowon Hall, New Government House, Little Rayfield Jos by 11am.

All appointees are expected to be in attendance.

Governor Simon Bako Lalong of Plateau State has felicitated with his former Chief of Staff, Chief John Dafa’an on his 58th birthday.

Governor Lalong while rejoicing with the former Chief of Staff described him as an astute administrator, politician and experienced public servant who has continued to deploy his wealth of experience in the service of Plateau State, Nigeria and humanity.

Lalong noted the contributions of Chief Dafaan to the success of the APC Rescue Administration particularly during its early days in office where he brought his vast experience to bear in ensuring the smooth take-off and stability of the Government.

He said the contributions of Chief Dafa’an to the society through philanthropy, community service and mentoring are positive virtues that should be emulated by the youths.

The Governor while wishing him more years of peace, God’s protection and good health, urged Chief Dafaan to continue to offer his wisdom, knowledge and experience to the service of Plateau State, Nigeria and humanity.

The Management and Residents of Quaan-Pan Local Government Area have welcomed the planting season with devastating experience as rainstorm destroy several houses and other properties in the Local Government Headquarters and it environs.

The Executive Chairman of the Council, Hon. Abdulmalik Yusuf Haruna, who personally went round some of the affected structures to ascertain the level of damage, sympathized with the victims, admonishing them to accept the incident as an act of God.

Hon. Abdulmalik stated that the Local Government Authority will take necessary steps to attract support from government agencies and private hands.

The incident which occurred during one of the early rains on Saturday May 1, 2021, affected government structures such as the Legislative Chamber, Some Departmental Offices, some Staff Quarters, the NYSC Lodge, the Nigerian Police Force Divisional Headquarters, the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) Divisional Office, the Magistrate Court building, the Local Education Authority office, and Classroom blocks at Government Primary and Secondary Schools.

Also affected are group and private structures including; the newly roofed NUT Club building, Private Primary and Secondary Schools, Shopping Malls, and several residential buildings, as well as economic trees, among others.

The Pus Rot Pwell (Dawaki) 2021 will go down as one of the best celebrated in the history of the occasion, having hosted great personalities from within and outside the state who thronged to not only share in the joy of celebrating their cultural and traditional heritage, but donated handsomely to the endowment fund raising for the development and rehabilitation of critical infrastructures in their domain.

One of those illustrious personalities who graced the occasion was Rt Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, the member representing Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency and Chairman House Committee on Navy, in whose entourage were three former local government chairmen of Kanam LGA, three former commissioners in the cabinet of Plateau State from Kanam LGA, Chairman of APC Elders Forum in Kanam LGA, APC Chairman of Kanam LGA, the member representing Plateau State in the board of HYPADEC, Prof. SMG Kanam among other notable dignitaries, were on hand to add colour and glamor to the occasion.

The highest point of the event was the cash donation of 500 thousand naira by the federal lawmaker, and a promise to construct market stalls in the Dawaki market within one month, and promised to commission the project by 10th June, 2021 to mark his second year in office.

In a related development, the lawmaker was a guest at the All Ngas Women fundraising, were he made a cash donation of #1million, with a call on Ngas women to focus on what unites us as a people, rather than holding divisive viewpoints that add no value to our existence as human race.

The lawmaker admonishes the women to prioritize competence and service delivery over primordial considerations, pointing out that we are our various tribes and ethnicities by mere accident of birth, but we have a choice to add value to humanity by how we treat fellow humans without recourse to ethnic or religious considerations.

The lawmaker posited that fear of the unknown gives rise to ethnic consideration in the choice of our leaders, but we must not sacrifice competence and credibility on the alter of ethnic preference. He maintains that good and bad leaders abound across all ethnic and religious divides, thus, we must always weigh our options to achieve the best.

Gagdi was also at Dungung to grace the wedding reception of one of his supporters, where he made a cash donation of 300 thousand to the couple, with the admonition that love, tolerance, trust and mutual respect should be the foundation of their home.

TROOPS OF OPERATION SAFE HAVEN RESCUE KIDNAPPED STUDENT OF CAPRO INTERNATIONAL MISSIONS SCHOOL IN PLATEAU STATE, NO RANSOM PAID

Troops of Operation Safe Haven have reportedly rescued the student who was reported to have be kidnapped by armed men recently at the CAPRO International Missions School at B/Ladi LGA of Plateau State. This was contained in a statement issued by the Media Officer Operation Safe Haven, Major Ibrahim SHITTU on Sunday 2nd May 2021.

The Statement claimed that no ransom was paid, as the student was said to have been rescue during intensive search and rescue operation by men of the Operation Safe Haven. This is evidence of the concerted efforts by men of Operation Safe Haven in curbing all forms of insecurity across Plateau, parts of Kaduna and Bauchi. It will be recalled that men of the OPSH have continuously paraded suspected kidnappers in recent weeks.

Efforts are being made to get confirmation from the school authorities.

PLATEAU: TROOPS RESCUE KIDNAPPED STUDENT

Troops of Operation SAFE HAVEN on Saturday, 1 May 2021 at about 0835pm rescued a kidnapped Student of Kings College Gana Ropp Barkin-Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, Mr Kelvin Eze who was kidnapped by bandits on 28 April 2021.

This was achieved through the sustained search and rescue operation by the troops, without payment of ransom. The rescued Student who is hale and hearty has since been reunited with other Students in the College.

It would be recalled that the timely intervention of security personnel forced the bandits to abandon the other abductees.

Operation SAFE HAVEN wishes to reassure the law abiding citizens of their safety and its determination to bring the lasting peace across its Joint Operational Areas, therefore solicits for further support and cooperation of the general public.

On this special day to mark the International Workers’ Day, Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong joined hardworking, resourceful and patriotic workers on the Plateau at the Rwang Pam stadium to mark the day.

He said he was glad that his administration has continued to foster a harmonious working relationship with Labour. He assured that his administration shall continue to do its best in meeting the expectations of the workers. Now that the Government has concluded negotiations on the 30 thousand naira minimum wage and consequential adjustments, the Governor directed the Head of Service to convene a meeting with the Joint Negotiating Council next week for the signing of the final agreement.

NLC Chairman Comrade Eugene Manji and his TUC counterpart Comrade Titus Mallo said workers in Plateau State are very happy with Governor Lalong for his friendly disposition and efforts to improve the welfare of workers not only through salary payment but also payment of pension and other entitlements.

They appealed to the Government to look into the issue of Hillstation Hotel and ASTC whose employees have been having challenges with accessing their pending salary arrears.

The leader of the DVD Movement in Plateau State, Nde Victor David Dimka has condoled the Chairman and good people of Jos South LGA over the recent attack on a mining site in Kuru community by unknown gunmen where eight miners where killed.
He also commiserate with Gwom Rwei Kuru, Da Patrick Mandung, Dagwom Kushe, Da Pius Jugu and the leadership of Kuru Development Association (KUDA) over the unfortunately Developemnt.
He appealed to the people to remain calm ànd called on the security agencies to fish out the perpetrators of such dastardly act.
