The APC has flagged off its Presidential Campaign in Jos Plateau State with confidence of winning the forth coming general elections and retaining power in 2023.
President Muhammadu Buhari who flagged off the campaign at the Rwang Pam Township Stadium Jos said the APC has all it takes to win the elections because of its performance and level of acceptance in the country.
He said the emergence of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the Presidential Candidate in a free and fair contest shows that he is an acceptable candidate for the party and Nigerians. He therefore wants the party members to work hard and ensure that there is victory at all levels.
National Chairman of the APC Senator Abdullahi Adamu said the APC has no fear of any political party as it has done well under President Muhammadu Buhari who has turned around the fortunes of the nation in various sectors.
He said Asiwaju will build on the achievements of President Muhammadu Buhari and ensure that Nigerians are provided with the best opportunities to thrive.
Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in his remarks said serving Nigeria is what he has always done and when elected, he will do more to build the economy, provide jobs, power, security, agricultural production and processing as well as industrial revolution.
He challenged Nigerians to look carefully before they give their votes saying that some politicians have been making promises without any evidence of performance and experience to show.
He thanked Governor Lalong for leading the campaign as Director General and also hosting the flag-off which he described as successful.
In his remarks, Director General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council and Governor of Plateau State Simon Bako Lalong said, “You will recall that Plateau State in the past hosted such high level party events which eventually produced Presidents of Nigeria and other national leaders that played significant roles in the growth and sustenance of our democracy. On this occasion, we are at the threshold of making yet another history of producing another President in Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu who will succeed our beloved President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023 by the grace of God”.
He said the flag-off ceremony heralds the nationwide campaigns that will see the party traversing the nooks and crannies of Nigeria to mobilise, galvanise and propagate the Renewed Hope Agenda that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his running mate Kashim Shettima are bringing to Nigerians. Already, there is great excitement and expectation over the prospects of an Asiwaju Government which promises to serve the people and carry them along just as Mr. President has done over the years.
Lalong while assuring that the APC will sweep the elections in Plateau State and across Nigeria explained that from the strategic engagements and Town Hall meetings held recently with various special interest groups, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the candidate of choice for Nigerians because of his vast experience in tacking problems, ability to listen and gather the best brains to get the job done without ethnic, religious or other sentiments. His records in Lagos State speak for themselves and his ability to network and carry along Nigerians of different backgrounds is unequalled.
Vice Presidential Candidate Senator Kashim Shettima, Senate President Ahmad Lawan, Progressives Governors Forum Chairman Atiku Bagudu and other Governors in various goodwill messages assured that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all the candidates of the APC will emerge victorious.
The anchored their confidence on what they called the capacity of Asiwaju and the excellent performance of President Muhammadu Buhari.
APC Gubernatorial candidate in Plateau State Nentawe Yilwatda said hosting the flag-off in Plateau as well as the appointment of Governor Lalong as Director General has affirmed that the State is the home of APC.
He said the State will vote massively for Asiwaju and all candidates of the party because APC has brought a lot of democracy dividends to Plateau State.

Any politician worth his salt continually needs people no matter the degree of work he has rendered to his constituency over the years.
The people are the oil needed to render more service to the community. If politicians seeking for political office went to sleep on account that they were productive before another election year, they may wake up to discover there is no one supporting them.
For any politician who imagines that because he or she has done so much in the communities of his constituency, such a one can go to rest; the outcome may shock his supporters when the chips are down.
We have heard and read what some foot soldiers of a certain candidate are saying. Consider this post: “With all the gargantuans performance, Competency and Capacity of Gagdi, he’s still looking for the peoples mandate. While the bewildered candidate of PDP is in deep sleep”. NO BE JUJU BE THAT?*
The Rt Hon Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, you must know, and let it help anyone who is doubtful, has never lost sleep about certain allegations that go against the grain of the understanding of the people about him.
To think that he will boast about what he has done and go to sleep, is to fail to understand the essence of the person of Gagdi and what he represents for PKK and Nigeria.
Without sounding boastful, if PKK has had his likes in the past, we would have long been the envy of Nigeria. What more, in just three and half years he is on the lips everyone for good reasons for being exceptional in representation.
He has not stopped, neither has he gone to sleep on account of what he has continued to do and provide for the constituency. It is not ‘juju’ to be good and work for PKK.
If anyone thinks he will sleep because some others have covered themselves in their sheets and have long started to snore, let it be known that Gagdi has just woken up to start work.
Until the last minute of the election, and even after, the people are his most prized instruments for the next phase of the journey. You can be sure of his commitment can be given in measures that have never been witnessed.
Jos, the Plateau State capital has always played a significant role in the political development of Nigeria.
As far back as 1962, the Action Group, one of the major political parties of the 1st Republic led by Chief Obafemi Awolowo held its national convention at the African Sports Club in Jos.
With the vibrancy of Plateau sons and daughters in national politics coupled with the growth and development of the Tin City, Jos became a center of attraction for many good reasons, attracting tourists, business men and women and politicians of all hue and colour.
Last week, Plateau State governor, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong rekindled all memories while presenting the 2023 budget to the Plateau State House of Assembly.
He brought laughter and joy to the ceremony by demonstrating that the unity and cohesion that existed on the Plateau could be re-lived.
The Governor went to the State House of Assembly complex in company of key stakeholders in the state to send a message that all could work together for the development of the state
The presence of Federal legislators like the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase and other federal legislators like Hon. Yusuf Gagdi and former Speakers from different political excited the state legislators who could not hide their emotions drawing commendations across the country for its symbolism.
Closely following that master stroke, Gov. Lalong who is the Director General of the Tinubu/Shettima APC Presidential Campaign is set to relaunch Jos, as the political capital of Nigeria at a time many think it is almost impossible to hold any political event of that magnitude in the Tin city.
The big event is the flag-off of the APC presidential campaign which is slated for Tuesday at the Rwang Pam stadium.
Through the instrumentality of the Presidential Campaign DG, Plateau State would host President Muhammadu Buhari, Commander-in-Chief and PCC Chairman, presidential candidate of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu; his deputy, Kashim Shettima; the party’s national chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila; 23 APC Governors, 36 Governorship candidates, about 500 National Assembly candidates, Hon Ministers and other important top dignitaries.
Rt Hon Ahmed Idris, Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives and Chairman of the Local Organising Committee is leaving no stone unturned to put up a great outing.
It promises to pull together the biggest crowd seen in recent times as supporters of the party and other well wishers are warming up to grace the occasion that will reignite the vibrancy of Jos as a significant political destination in Nigeria.
Apart from the convention of the Action Group in 1962, Jos, has played other key roles in the political developments of Nigeria.
It was for instance the venue of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) primary which produced MKO Abiola as presidential candidate and Babagana Kingibe as running mate.
It was also the venue of the 1998 primary which threw up Olusegun Obasanjo as the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
One unmistakable underlying theme in having Jos as venue for major political meets is that any candidate that associates with the city wins the presidential elections.
The cool weather and the gentle breeze seem to disseminate the positive aura that results in victory for presidential candidates hosted in Jos.
When Abiola came to Jos for the primary, he won the 1993 presidential elections while Obasanjo equally went ahead to win the presidential election when he was returned at the party’s primary in Jos.
When Lalong was chosen as the DG of the Tinubu/Shettima campaign, he applied the opportunity to reconstruct Jos and retain the aura it lost in the previous years due to crises.
People recall that after the founding fathers of Jos built the city into a haven of tourism, commerce and political meets, an intervening period of crises robbed it of all that.
But Lalong has been able to restore peace to the state and his sterling qualities and patience got him the campaign DG of the APC presidential campaign and is about to prove that Jos can birth the next president of Nigeria.
By hosting of such a big event in Jos, Lalong would prove to the world that peace has really returned to the state and that the state is ready to welcome all.
This is a strong statement to both those resident in the state and those outside.
The positive vibe for Plateau is that all businesses can benefit from the event while those outside can take a cue from the political event to relocate to plateau.
For the APC, it is an assurance of victory as people readily recall when Solomon Lar was the national chairman of a political party, he brought the party’s primary to Jos and their presidential candidate won.
Now that Lalong as Campaign DG has decided to use Jos to kick off campaigns, history is set torepeat itself.
Hosting the APC Presidential Campaign kick off also shows that the APC Rescue Administration under Governor Lalong has done well to restore confidence, peace and security in Plateau State. Tinubu will consolidate on this when elected because of the history of his inclusive governance style.

RT HON YUSUF ADAMU GAGDI: A FIDUS ACHATES TO THE NGAS NATION
Friendship is the hardest thing in the world to explain. It’s not something you learn in school. But if you haven’t learned the meaning of friendship, you haven’t learned anything.
In all honesty, Ngas Nation has many good friends but Hon Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, the member representing Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency in the National Assembly and the flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in next year’s election for the Federal constituency is one in millions. He has defined his love for the Ngas nation in extraordinary ways unprecedented.
Even his most trenchant critics know this as gospel truth. Through thick and thin, he has been with them, and I don’t ever see him falling away, as we have seen with some fair-weather supporters. This one run with the hares and hunt with the hounds.
However, naysayers who would rather deny the evidence of their eyes than accept the reality of Gagdi’s love for the Ngas people, like slave riders of old, are on the prowl, warring against the truth and trying to take it captive.
True friends are those rare people who come to find you in dark places and lead you back to the light. Ngas nation was tasty and long waited to have that opportunity to occupy the seat of a Governor on the Plateau. Young Gagdi stood beside Ngas nation to ensure that they produce a Gubernatorial candidate under the platform of the All Progressives Congress(APC) whom we are all optimistic will be the next Governor of Plateau State comes 2023 despite all odds.
Apart from his support for the Ngas gubernatorial candidacy, he has tremendously cited projects that have direct impacts on the lives of people within the Ngas nation which are too numerous to outline but too obvious to deny.
Hon Gagdi has made friends with Ngas people and most amazingly more than half of his kitchen cabinet members are from the Ngas clan. He has continued to make the most needed differences in all facets of leadership, growth and development.
But there is a futile attempt at stifling a sure pregnancy that will inevitably be birthed. For, in the words of Miguel de Cervantes, “the truth will rise above falsehood as oil above water.” They lied against the person of Gagdi calling him sorts of names Jihadist, ritualist, 419er, and overambitious among others. Like oil rises above water, all the lies told against the person of Gagdi cannot stand against the tide of truth. The PKK constituents have continued to love, adore and appreciate him.
Clinically demolishing such a mountain of mendacity as peddled by reactionary elements and hired goons has become very imperative in the face of the burning need to re-elect the dogged member next year, a progressive, people-oriented person as exemplified by Yusuf Adamu Gagdi.
One of the time-worn, puerile and twisted narratives by traducers against Gagdi’s re-election is tradition. But come to think of it, what has tradition got to do with quality leadership?
Urbane, cerebral, cosmopolitan and detribalised, such primordial cleavage as entho-centrism and religious bigotry are completely alien to Gagdi’s character- trait, yet political jobbers are fruitlessly tarring him with an inelegant brush.
Shakespeare wrote in Macbeth about the wren, “the most diminutive of birds” which will fight the owl, to protect her young ones in the nest.
The choice of Gagdi as a candidate for the PKK constituency for the 2023 general election is, to use the cliche “a right peg in the right hole”. Gagdi, without doubt, is a history and a school of politics of the highest order, and beyond the flamboyant show-off and pretension of our everyday politics, he possesses a unique political acumen that lends undeniable credence to his insightful leadership that often sees beyond the genesis of events which often informs the type of solutions he proffers to situations and challenges to approximately tackle them.
Gagdi’s exceptional leadership, managerial and intellectual qualities, as well as his vast experience put him on the right trajectory as a perfect choice and most importantly his innate love for diversity, clarity of purpose and tolerance of ideas and collaborative actions. He is a best friend to the Ngas nation in particular and his constituency at large and that’s why our love and support for him keeps appreciating and not depreciating.

Dr. Makut Simon Macham Director Press and Public Affairs to the Governor of Plateau State. 11th November 2022.
Our challenge in the PDP is that we have not evolved into a formidable opposition party capable of wrestling power from the APC. We have been stagnant, revolving around some archaic political methods hoping that the street sentiment will work against the APC.
As faithful and dedicated party members who are desirous of seeing an end to our status as an opposition party, we will not close our eyes to see the party towing that path of failure consistently and feel relaxed about it. We have been drawing the attention of our party’s decision and policy makers in our closets and in the secrecy of our meetings but it seems they are not ready to heed to our advice thereby remaining adamant on a political style that is outdated.
We are left with no option but to make our concern public to draw the attention of some supporters and stakeholders who are not comfortable too with the modus of our campaign and engagement so that collectively our voices will be heard.
While the APC is very focused and has implored issue-based campaigns, the PDP is just clinging on the politics of sympathy solicitation.
If not, what values does it add to us as a party in this state that we will spend two days meeting in the house of our revered political chieftain and the only thing that we can come up with is the plans to destroy our billboards and blaming it on the APC.
And now that some of these plans have been executed, what electoral value has it added to our party? How can someone just wake up and decide to destroy his party billboards and materials to blame it on the ruling party and then assume that that’s the way to win an election in this era of sensitive voters? How about the economic implications of this undemocratic act we have inflicted on the party in the name of whipping sentiments.
For the love that we have for our party the PDP and her different aspirants contesting for different positions across Plateau State, we are bringing out this issue so that many voices will join us in calling our policy makers to retract from that old fashioned campaign method.
As young minds who are desirous of seeing that our party bounce back to power, this method of sympathy shopping won’t take us anywhere rather it will keep us fixed perpetually on that table of self-deceit.
A stitch in time saves nine. Let’s go back to the drawing board and stick to issues based campaign so that we will be able to deliver BCM, Atiku and others.
