FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ASK CIVIL SERVANTS TO TEST FOR COVID-19

FG Asks Civil Servants To Test For COVID-19

The federal government has asked all Abuja-based civil servants to get themselves tested for COVID-19.

The directive was contained in a circular by the permanent secretary, Service Welfare Office in the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation, Dr Evelyn Ngige.

Ngige signed the circular titled, “Conduct of COVID-19 testing for civil servants” on behalf of the HOSF, Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan. The circular dated July 17, 2020, was addressed to all federal permanent secretaries.

It noted: “I am directed to inform you that the federal government has provided facilities for the conduct of COVID-19 tests for civil servants at the ThisDay Dome, Mohammed Kur Avenue, by Nanet Suites, Central Business District, Abuja (from 10 am to 4 pm daily) as part of efforts to curtail the spread of the virus.

“Accordingly, you are required to notify all staff of the testing facility to enable members of staff who experience COVID-19 related symptoms and those wishing to get tested in your MDAs to take advantage of this opportunity”.

She called on the attention of civil servants to the updated guidelines on the control of the disease in offices which she said could be accessed on the official website of the Office in the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation.

RT. HON YUSUF ADAMU GAGDI RETURNS TO JOS, HOST SYMPATHIZERS

Sympathizers have continued to thronge the Rayfield residence of Rt Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, the House of Representatives member representing Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency, to commiserate with him over the demise of his father, Mallam Adamu Yusuf, who died last week Thursday after a brief illness.

The Plateau State Police Commissioner, Hon. Sadat Garga, Alh. Muazu Shuaibu were among dignitaries who visited Gagdi in Rayfield today.

Gagdi returned from Abuja this afternoon, where he received sympathizers who had earlier visited his Abuja residence to register their condolences. He had earlier hosted the speaker House of Representatives, Secretary to the government of the federation, the four Service Chiefs and Inspector General of Police amongst others.

The lawmaker will continue to host sympathizers at his Rayfield residence until early Monday morning when he intends to return to Abuja to face his legislative duties.

BREAKING: 601 Repentant Boko Haram Terrorists Graduate In Gombe, Reintegrated To Communities

The Defence Headquarters has reintegrated 601 ex-Boko Haram terrorists including 14 foreign nationals from Cameroon, Chad and Niger into the society through their respective national and state authorities.

Coordinator of Operation Safe Corridor, Major General Bamidele Shafa, disclosed this on Saturday at the DRR Camp in Mallam Sidi, Gombe State.

Shafa said the concept of Operation Safe Corridor was a unique non-kinetic operation aimed at giving hope to ex-combatants, who willingly give up their arms to embrace peace.

He said, “On arrival at the camp, the clients went through documentation processes to obtain vital background information after which they were subjected to comprehensive medical screening to determine their health status.

“Their DNA samples were also collected while their biometrics were captured on national data using the National Identity Management Commission facilities for future references. The background information serves as guide for the experts; Local Treatment Team to properly place the clients for treatment therapies and vocational training. The LTT are specialised experts in various fields of deradicalisation and rehabilitation therapies drawn from the Nigeria Correctional Service.”

President Muhammadu Buhari has been given a pat on the back for the appointment of one of Plateau’s sons, Barr Amos Azi as the Chairman/CEO of the Investment and Securities Tribunal

Senator Dimka while congratulating Barr Azi said it was a decision well muted as it is putting a square peg in a square hole knowing that he has put in a number of years in the industry, thus qualifying him to head the Tribunal.

He therefore challenged him to rely on the knowledge that he has garnered over the years to ensure that the industry remains a catalyst for investment and development as well as giving investors a pride of place.

The Senate Committee Chairman on Drugs and Narcotics used the opportunity to appreciate President Muhammadu Buhari and the Minister of Finance Mrs. Zainab Ahmed for trusting the capability and abilities of the new appointee; and therefore urged him to discharge his duties to the best of his abilities for Nigeria.

Barr Amos Azi was one time Commissioner for Information and Communication during the regime of Governor Joshua Dariye. Since leaving the office, he has been at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Abuja.

Senator Hezekiah A Dimka, Chairman Senate Committee on Drugs and Narcotics has congratulated the Director General of the Industrial Training Fund, ITF Mr. Joseph Ntung Ari on his reappointment for another term of four years.

In a congratulatory message after the Permanent Secretary Federal Ministry of Trade and Investment, Dr Sani Gwarzo released the appointment letter, said the appointment is a positive omen as it would again put the agency in a good stead.

There is no doubt that in the last four years of his first tenure, Sir Joseph Ari was albe to rebrand the organuzation in such a manner that gave the youths and Nigerians a prime place in the nation’s quest for skills development and job creation.

2023:GROUP INAUGURATES MOVEMENT, RALLIES SUPPORT FOR TINUBU


The National Executive Council, NEC, of the MOVEMENT FOR THE ACTUALISATION OF TINUBU 2023 PRESIDENCY, MFAT, has just been inaugurated today being Saturday July 25, 2020.
Inaugurating the NEC through online meeting of the Movement, the National Chairman of MFAT, Comrade Eric Olugbenga Eniola charged members to brace up to face the challenges before them towards realising their set dreams.
In a statement credited to the National Chairman of the movement, Comrade Eric Olugbenga Eniola,he said “with the calibre of people in the NEC I have no doubt in my mind that their collective determination and hard work shall see the emergence of Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu as not only the party’s flag bearer, but the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria come 2023”.
Comrade Eniola rolled out the vision of MFAT to members as: “TO SEE NIGERIA AS ONE UNITED AND INDIVISIBLE ENTITY; AND TO DEFEND THE POLICIES AND ACTIONS OF ASIWAJU AHMED BOLA TINUBU NOW AND WHEN HE BECOMES PRESIDENT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA IN 2023”.
He added that MFAT mission is, ” TO ENSURE THAT ASIWAJU AHMED BOLA TINUBU BECOMES THE PRESIDENT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC COME 2023; AND TO MAKE THE NAME- ASIWAJU AHMED BOLA TINUBU BECOMES A HOUSEHOLD NAME THROUGHOUT NIGERIA “.
Based on the Vision and Mission, the National chairman opined: “MFAT which is a movement of vibrant and progressive Nigerians with the strong belief in the political philosophy of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has over two million members spread across the six geo – political zones of Nigeria”.
MFAT, Comrade Eniola further added ” have structures running from the centre to the states down to the 774 local government councils across Nigeria which eventually terminate at the wards and polling units levels”.
To facilitate its activities, the NEC meeting approved the constitution of a 13 – member committee on Mobilization, Contact and Funding under the Chairmanship of the National Women Leader of MFAT, Hajiya Fatima Sagir.
The Committee’s mandate, which is to make its recommendations for ratification include, Modality for membership identification card, modality for appointment of national and states’ patrons and matrons, membership drive and opening of accounts for the Movement.
Members of the Committee are, Deputy National Chairmen North and South, Director of Mobilization and Contacts, National Youth Leader, Chairmen of Ebonyi, Rivers, Lagos, Sokoto, Kogi, and Gombe, with the two Diaspora Vice Chairmen of UAE and the UK, while the Vice Chairmen, South South will serve as the Secretary of the Committee.They are expected to submit their recommendations to the leadership of the movement through the National Secretary, Dr.Samuel Oga in one week’s time.
The online meeting was attended by the thirty one National EXCO members, Chairmen and their Secretaries.At this inaugural NEC meeting,the group resolved that they would work assiduously to ensure that ASIWAJU Ahmed Bola Tinubu, the only Jagaban of our time emerges as the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria come 2023.

RT HON YAKUBU DOGARA DUMPS PDP, MEETS BUHARI IN ASO ROCK


Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara has dumped the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
The Chairman of the APC Caretaker/Convention Planning Committee and Governor of Yobe State, Mai Malla Buni, disclosed this after the duo met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Although Dogara declined to speak after the meeting, Mai Buni told journalists that the former Speaker “is now a member of APC.”
He said that they were at the Presidential Villa to pay a courtesy visit on the President and to brief him on the development in the rebuilding efforts of the Caretaker Committee.

According to him, “We paid a courtesy call on the President in continuation with our efforts in rebuilding the party, we are here to see Mr. President and brief him on the development.”
Reminded that some People may be surprised seeing him at the State House with the former Speaker who is a member of the opposition, he said that Dogara has returned to the APC as the reason that made him leave was no longer there.
He said,” Well, they (Nigerians) shouldn’t be surprised because the former Speaker is a member of the APC. He is because the reason in which he left the APC is no longer there. He is back now.”
On the reaction of President Buhari seeing Dogara, Buni said, “The President welcomed him, he is happy with the development, that is what he is looking for. We are rebuilding the party, and these are the steps we are taking towards rebuilding the party.”
Also asked about the efforts he was making to ensure that he brings back other party members that decamped, he said that he was meeting all the aggrieved members to bring them back.
“We are meeting all our aggrieved members particularly those who have interest in coming back to the party, they should feel free to do so, we are assuring them and there is no crime in double assurance.”
He also promised to see the end of all crises in APC in a short time and assured that the returnees would be given equal treatment and opportunity.
He said, “We will do justice to all our members, that is what will bring peace, that is what will guarantee peaceful coexistence, that is what will guarantee the consolidation and rebuilding of the party. Without doing justice you cannot achieve that and we are sure of doing justice to all manner of our members.”
When asked whether what he was doing was part of the 2023 strategy, he said, “Well of course not only 2023 strategy. We are rebuilding the party to outlive all of us. It is not about a specific time or period, it is not about election or electioneering, it is about rebuilding our party.”

Dogara, who is a member of the opposition PDP, served as the 14th Speaker of the House of Representatives.
The former Speaker currently represents Bogoro/Dass,/Tafawa Balewa, Federal constituency of Bauchi State since 2007.
He first dumped the PDP in 2014 and re-contested for the House of Representatives seat in 2015 on the platform of the APC.
Although he was not the party’s candidate for the position of speaker, he was supported by the PDP members to clinch the position. He later before the 2019 elections went back to the PDP and contested again and won.

Governor Simon Bako Lalong says he is excited with the appointment of another illustrious son of Plateau State, Barr. Amos Azi as the Chairman/CEO of the Investments and Securities Tribunal by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Lalong in a congratulatory message said the appointment of Barr. Azi is the right decision of putting a square peg in a square hole, considering the many years he has spent in the industry.

He urges him to use his vast knowledge and wealth of experience as a lawyer who has deep understanding of the capital market to promote stability of the market and guarantee the security of investors’ interests.

He appreciates President Muhammadu Buhari and the Minister of Finance Mrs. Zainab Ahmed for identifying Barr.
