The Plateau State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), under the Chairmanship of Hon. Nandom Pyennap Exodus has today slammed a suspension on its immediate past Chairman in the State Hon. Yakubu Chocho, his Deputy Hon. Amos Gombi and eleven others.

The suspension was made available to Journalist in a press released signed by Hon. Akims Mamot James MNBAIS,MBAL, FNAS,IFAL,IFAS,M ILB the Plateau State Publicity Secretary, said Sequel to meetings of the State Caretaker Committee led by the legitimate Chairman of the party in Plateau State Hon Nandom Pyennap Exo.

The party has suspended the following members of the party for gross violation of party Constitution and conducting themselves in a manner that has cause the party great damages.

This members have constituted themselves as nuisance to the state chapter on various degree of involvement against the progress of the party in the state chapter.

Some are aspirants who are molesting innocent party faithfuls, through extortion of funds for their intending aspirations and its read as follows:

PLATEAU STATE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY CAUCUS DONATES TO COVID-19 FUND.

In what could be described as “putting aside political differences” for the progress of Plateau State, members of the National Assembly Caucus from the State were at the Government House, Rayfield in Jos to present their donation to Governor Simon Bako Lalong towards the fight against COVID-19.
The delegation which was led by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Idris Maje, donated an undisclosed sum of money to the Plateau State COVID-19 Trust Fund so as to assist Government deal with the pandemic.
The Deputy Speaker said the donation was in appreciation of the measures taken by the State Government so far in dealing with the pandemic through several measures.
He said “We have noted with delight some of the major steps you have taken to curtail the disease especially by restricting movements which has done a lot to limit the spread of the pandemic. We have seen you deploy technology in the borders to enforce the movement of people which largely limited importation of the disease”.
They asked the Governor to continue his initiatives which are aimed at saving the lives of the people and making sure Corona virus is defeated in Plateau State.
Governor Lalong who expressed appreciation for the gesture of the National Assembly Plateau Caucus said the donation again shows their patriotism and unity towards the progress of Plateau State.
Lalong said “Your presence here is a show of unity and solidarity for the good of our people. I have keenly followed what you have been doing individually for your constituents and other vulnerable people in the State. Nevertheless, you have deemed it necessary to contribute to the State COVID-19 Trust Fund. We are very grateful”.
He used the opportunity to also commend them for putting the interest of Plateau State high on the agenda of the National Assembly which has attracted a lot of goodwill from the Federal Government to the State. He also appreciated them for supporting President Muhammadu Buhari by passing quality legislations for the development of the country.
Lalong also used the opportunity to speak on the profiling and transfer of Almajiri children to their States of origin where he explained that the decision was taken by the entire Northern Governors in order to protect the children who were abandoned and became at risk of contacting COVID-19 and even spreading it.
He said “Although many are trying to politicise the matter, I can assure you that it is the best decision we have taken in the interest of these Almajiri children who for years have been suffering and left at the mercy of the streets. You will recall that the President’s wife, Her Excellency Aisha Buhari convened a summit at the Villa which was attended by the President, Sultan, Governors from the North and religious leaders. The decision was to stop the Almajiri system completely and we believe that we have the best chance to do so in order to improve the lives of these children and give them proper education and care”.
The Governor therefore appealed to the legislators to continue to support the Government in ensuring that the program succeeds despite the misinformation and improper tagging of economic migrants to the other parts of the country as “Almajiris” which he described as most unfortunate and improper.
The Governor in company of the National Assembly members later took possession of an ambulance, 2 ventilators, 10,000 surgical masks and other accessories donated to the State by NNPC/IPPG initiative.

Immediate past Chairman Plateau State Youth Council
Dr Fabong Jemchang on Monday handed over all necessary documents to the Plateau state ministry of Youths and Sports .


Speaking at the occasion in Jos , Jemchang said having been served with the press release from the ministry of Youth and Sports development Plateau state last saturday on the decision of the ministry to take over the PYC ,i forward my handover notes .

He said the Council under his leadership came into being on May 22 2017 and the tenure ended terminated May 22 2020 .
The ministry of Youths and sports development through the commissioner allocated 3 offices with tables and 8 single chairs to the council .,files of the last adminstration were handed over to me after i took over in May 2017 by Sir Emmanuel Dashe who is the EX Officio of the council .

He said ” ” I wish to on behalf of the EXCO , the central working committee , the 17 LGA chairmen of the Youth council and Youths of Plateau state hand over the properties of PYC .

“We shall give account of our stewardship to the Youths council at the General Assembly to be organised by the ministry after the Covid 18 pandemic .



Plateau state ministry of youth and sport development has evoked the doctrine of necessity directing the State EXCO of the Plateau Youth Council to hand over all necessary documents to the ministry pending the lifting of ban on public gatherings due to covid-19 global pandemic. This was due to the fact that the tenure of the EXCO has expired on the 22nd May, 2020




Fabong before now had said that he was determined more than ever to midwife the process of a new administration immediately Government lifts the ban on social gathering.

JOS NORTH LGC BOSS CONGRATULATES, MUSLIMS, SUES FOR TOLERANCE, PEACEFUL COEXISTENCE

The Chairman, Management Committee of Jos North Local Government Council Hon. Shehu Usman has felicitated with Muslims in Jos North and beyond on the successful completion of the month – long Ramadan fasting.

Hon. Usman expressed gratitude to Muslims and residents of the area for remaining steadfast despite the situation the state found itself following the outbreak COVID 19 and urged them to use the occasion of the Eid el-fitri celebration to make supplications for themselves, the Local Government, Plateau State and the Country at large.

The Chairman described as regrettable the situation where Muslims in Jos North and beyond cannot observe usual Eid el fitri prayer this year, occasioned by the pandemic, but on them to see the situation as part of the sacrifice all Muslims have to make at this time.

He stated, “it is gratifying to note that we are concluding this year’s Ramadan on a good note despite the current COVID 19 pandemic ravaging the whole world. I praise Almighty Allah for allowing Muslims in Jos North Local Government to join the Muslim Ummah in making supplications for forgiveness of our Sins’.

The Chairman sought the continued support and cooperation of the Muslim Ummah and residents of the area in adhering of face masks, observing social distancing, regular washing of hands and eating immune boosting foods, among others.

He promised to continue to make life more meaningful to all residents of the area through godly and humane policies, reiterating his administration’s commitment to the socio – economic transformation of the Local Government Area.

The Chairman used the occasion to identify and congratulate Governor Simon Bako Lalong of Plateau state, Speaker and members of the Plateau State House of Assembly on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast and assured them of the Local Government unflinching support to the rescue administration in the state.

In another development, Management Committee Chairman of North Local Government Shehu Usman has expressed his condolences to the good people of Jos North Local Government over the sad loss of Alhaji Shehu Mai Manja.

The Chairman in condolence message said Alhaji Shehu Mai Manja contributed immensely to the growth of the APC in Jos North Local Government during the 2019 General Elections and prayed God to give his immediate family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

The attention of Senator Jonah David Jang has just been drawn to a false report by a discredited online news medium Universal reporter who over time has continued to publish fake news especially as it relates to happenings on the Plateau.

In order not to give credence to a lowly rated Yakubu Basari and his sponsors, we have in the past ignored all of his fake news. However, we have decided to respond to his latest story which is intended to mislead the very few who still read his concocted write up.

In the light of the above, we wish to state categorically that Senator Jonah David Jang welcomed the decision of the NWC of the PDP in appointing members of the last exco as caretaker committee after the expiration of their tenures, we salute the courage of our great party in taking that decision which could only have been done by divine wisdom because doing otherwise would have thrown up a greater challenge.

To set the record straight, at no time did the Senator shut his door against Yakubu Chocho and members of his committee.

People Democratic Party on the Plateau is a united family and shall continue to be so.

The member representing the good people of mikang and majority leader of Plateau state house of assembly has asked the Muslim faithful in his constituency and plateau at large to emulate the virtues of prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) as they celebrate Eid-el-fitr.

Hon. Na’anlong also enjoined the faithful to use the period to offer prayers for peace, unity, prosperity, healing of the land ,and rapid development at all levels of governance in the constituency and plateau.

Plateau Youth Council (PYC) aspirant for State Chairman, Prince Mado felicitates with Muslims in Plateau, Nigeria and the world at large on the successful completion of the year 2020 Ramadan and the celebration of Eid-el-fitr.

In a statement in Jos through his campaign directorate, Prince Mado stated that beyond merriment to celebrate the breaking of fast, Muslims should use the period to reflect and commit Nigeria to prayers.
