Hon. Tamwakat Weli preaches love, tolerance during SALLAH CELEBRATION
The Commissioner for Tourism, Culture and Hospitality, Hon. Tamwakat Weli, has admonished the Muslim community to imbibe the spirit of sacrifice, love and tolerance in order for the country to move forward.
Hon. Tamwakat, in an Eid el-fitr message, issued, by her Special Assitant, charged religious leaders to always preach and promote ethno-religious tolerance and to create a conducive environment for love to strive. “I wish to Join in celebrating with our Muslim faithfuls all over the world, as we observe EID EL KABIR Celebrations. In this trying times where the Covid 19 has threaten our existence globally, I wish to admonish that we use this opportunity to create an everlasting bond, by smoothening our differences with love, staying save for our loved ones and our Communities. May this season of celebrations strengthen and sustain the love, Peace and Unity amongst our Friends, Neighbors and loved ones. May Allah reward your sacrifice bountifully, and may he preserve us to witness many of these seasons in years to come.” She said the Government will continue to pursue people-oriented program and initiate interventions that will guarantee peace and stability in the polity and support the drive to end the Covid19 pandemic, as well as improve the living conditions of the citizens.
CHIEF GARBA S. PWUL FELICITATES WITH THE MUSLIM COMMUNITY
A Senior Advocate of Nigeria of Nigeria, Chief Garba Pwul has felicitated with the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of eid El Fitr Sallah celebration. In his Sallah message to the Muslim community in Nigeria, he enjoined them to sustain the lessons of Ramadan and replicate same in their daily lives for a better society.
He also called on the Ummah not to be carried away by only the pageantry of the Sallah celebration, but to use the occasion for sober reflection and extend gestures and hands of support to the needy in the society as well as pray against the current security and economic situation of the country. “As you join the rest of the Ummahs all over the world, I enjoin you to replicate, and demonstrate in your daily lives the lessons, and virtues of sacrifice, forgiveness, piety, self-denial, and genuine love towards one another which you learned during the month- long fast. This is indeed another moment of celebration and sober reflection. I urge you also to take out opportunity to offer special prayers for the nation against the backdrop of the current security and economic situation and support the downtrodden and those who are struggling to make ends meet as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. May the blessings of Allah (SWT) fill our lives with happiness & open all the door of success and bestow his choicest blessing on us now and always. (Amin).” He emphasized the importance of peace, unity and tolerance amongst the diverse people of the country for the envisaged growth and development to take place, insisting that the heterogeneity of Nigeria should be a source of strength rather than conflict.

Plateau State Government Assure on Religious Pluralism – Hon. Dan Manjang

PLATEAU STATE GOVERNMENT ASSURES ON RELIGIOUS PLURALISM – Manjang.
The Plateau state Government says it will continue to observe and sustain the religious diversity of the state.
In a message rejoicing with the Muslim umma over the conclusion of their fasting period and celebration of Eid- el Fitr Sallah festival, state Commissioner of Information and Communication Dan Manjang explained that Governor Simon Lalong has since assuming office in 2015 administered the state without religious or any bias.
Manjang explained that he recognizes the difficulty of Ramadan during lockdown occasioned by the COVID 19 global pandemic.
He notes the leader of the Rescue Administration Governor Simon Lalong has within limited resources distributed palliatives without discrimination for the vulnerable in all the 17 Local Governments of the State.
The Plateau state Information and Communication Commissioner particularly notes that this year’s eid prayers coincides with the Christian day of worship on Sunday.
Manjang explains it is not a mere coincidence but the special plan of God for tolerance, accommodation and peaceful coexistence.
While adhering to government’s directive on the celebration, Manjang implores the Muslim umma and other Nigerians not to let their guard down but strengthen their resolve to mitigate the spread of COVID 19 not just in the state but the country at large.

The Former Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Barrister Solomon Dalung has congratulated Muslims Faithful across the globe on Eid al-Fitr Celebrations. While felicitating with Muslims faithful, the Former Minister charged the to use the occasion to show love to one another and maintain peace for the betterment of Nigeria as a nation.

Muslims globally celebrate eid el fitr marking the end of the month of Ramadan. As friend and brother, alhul kitaab, I join the Muslim Ummah on this day of abundant blessings.
Islam is founded on peace, no wonder all pleasantries commenced with assalamalaikum. Islam is a religion of compassion as exemplified in the life and times of Holy Prophet Muhammad, Pbuh. The selfless sacrifices of trusted Companions, Abubakar, Umar, Ali, Uthman alongside other guided Companions attested to these facts that humanity is cardinal to Islam.
On an occasion like this, it is imperative to reflect on these virtues to keep us within rightful guidance. It is not debatable that Islam is based on knowledge because the first revelation to the Holy Messenger is instructive, “read in the name of your God who created all things”. Subsequently, the Hadith enjoined Muslims to “search for knowledge as far as Sigh”. Therefore can any one be a Muslim without knowledge? I think it will be a dangerous assumption. The bane of political Islam is half knowledge coupled with self pride motivated by self-seeking desires.
Humility and submission to the supreme will of God is being substituted with desire for material accumulation. This pathetic situation accounts for rising profile of extremism in contemporary Islam. Knowledge deficit of what Islam represents is one factor that creates phobia amongst Christians and other non Muslims. Today, Islam is misconstrued by many as synonymous with violent extremism. This negative perception has created hatred amongst people, with politicians in Nigeria exploiting it for selfish ambitions. Collectively, we must reject these pervasive orientations that perpetually kept us divided. I hereby challenge Muslim faithfuls to reposes their religion from the captivity of violent elements. Muslims should distinguish themselves from acts that cannot be reconciled with the life and times of the Holy Messnger.
Advocates of violence in modern Islam should carry us along by conviction. Is there compulsion in religion? Or is there another new revelation which mandates Muslims to compel people to join Islam? “There is no compulsion in religion, it’s a matter of conviction” Therefore, I find it incredible to accept intolerance as part of Islam or has the contents of Covenant of St. Catherine changed? Christians were protected under the leadership of the Holy Prophet, so why will anybody kill them today in the name of jihad? All those who are engaged in such evil practices to my mind are political muslims but certainly not followers of the Man of peace, Muhammad Ibin Abdullah, pbuh.
I join Muslims to celebrate eid el fitr and enjoin all to return to the true teaching of the Holy Quran and Hadith. As you celebrate, remember to discharge the burden of members of your community. May peace and love flourish amongst Nigerians as we navigate to the promise land under the leadership of the man of destiny, Mr. “I belong to everybody and belong to nobody”.
On this auspicious occasion of the celebration of Eid-il Fitr, I commemorate with the Muslim Ummah around the world, and pray the Almighty Allah to reward our ibadah with His choicest blessing.
I enjoin the entire Muslims around the globe to always reflect on the Ramadan fast that just ended, and live a holy life throughout the remainder of the year and the years to come, as we join faith and pray God to bring an end to the coronavirus pandemic that is ravaging the world.
