Rep. Dr. Simon Mwadkwon said while people are observing the Total Lockdown imposed in the State Crisis Merchants are out causing havoc on lives and property of the people.
The Member said well armed Fulani Militants invaded the residence of Rev. Canon Bayo James of Messiah College, Capro International Ministry in Ropp District of Barkin Ladi LGA shooting him and injuring other family Members.
I want to call on the government to take the necessary steps to ensure the attackers are arrested and punished according.
Our people cannot afford to be suffering the COVID-19 Challenge and still be attacked while adhering to government directives of the total lockdown.
The Federal Lawmaker therefore charged the Government to live up to its cardinal constitutional responsibility of protecting lives and property of the people.

You are a career professional the first among your peers to hold a PhD in accounting.
As a former PTF Boss that you ware a lots of impact where felt and your immediate community testify to that , it means charity has long been established at home.
Your support, sponsorship and steadfastness to People’s Democratic Party which has been your platform from 1999 after the defunct SDP.

” All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them,” this popular quote by Walt Disney summarizes the vigour with which Prof. Doknan Decent Danjuma Sheni is pursuing his senatorial ambition and the enthusiasm with which the people of southern plateau have embraced it. A consummate university administrator and gentleman, not only in character and learning, but also in uprightness and morals, Prof. Sheni has like a Colossus traversed the academic landscape not only through the length and breadth of Nigeria, but also in Europe, North America, Latin America, Pacific, Asia and the Middle East. His doggedness and resilience to delve into this project as expounded above by Walt Disney was what, inspite of the undaunting challenges, kept him going.
THE MAN PROF. SHENI
Born October 19th, 1955 in Shendam, Shendam LGA of Plateau State, Prof. Sheni attended Native Authority Primary School, Shendam from 1962 and completed at the Native Authority Primary School, Dadur, Langtang North LGA in 1968 where attained his First School Leaving Certificate, FSLC. He then got admitted into Government College, Keffi between 1969 and 1973 passing out with Division One Distinction. He then moved to the prestigious University of Benin from 1974 to 1978, graduating with a BSc degree in Optometry before leaving the shores of Nigeria to obtain his Masters and PhD degrees in Canada.
MEMBERSHIP OF PROFESSIONAL BODIES
In 1981 Prof. Sheni passed the prescribed examination leading to the award of Fellowship, American Academy of Optometry, FAAO, later, Fellowship of the South African Optometric Association, FOA, Fellowship of the Nigerian Optometric Association, FNOA,and Fellowship of the Nigerian College of Optometry, FNCO.

* Prof. Sheni invented an instrument to measure fusion limits, for which he obtained a Canadian patent. * He has published several referred papers in International acclaimed journals, which for want of time and space, cannot be enumerated here. * He is the first African to receive a PhD in Optometry in 1984. * He presented many papers at International Conferences in many countries in North America, Europe, Middle East, Asia Pacific, India, Latin America and Africa. * Published books, including one on Clinical Optometry titled “Diagnostic Optometry” and the other on binocular vision titled ” Binocular Vision: Diagnostic Procedures and Workbook”. * Member, Eye Care Steering Committee, Limpopo Province.

APPOINTMENT AT PLATEAU STATE UNIVERSITY, PLASU, BOKKOS.
It was the untiring effort of Prof Sheni that transformed the hitherto moribund Plateau State University, PLASU, Bokkos into a fully recognized and accredited citadel of learning. He developed an admission policy where qualified Plateau State applicants who passed their JAMB got admission into Plateau State University instead of waiting year in year out for admission into federal Universities.
The Plateau government has expressed concern on the unauthorised use of security passes in the state, saying the state had invalidated use of all passes issued and would issue new ones to qualified persons on Thursday to checkmate the practice.
The Secretary to the State Government, Prof Danladi Atu, made this known on Wednesday, during an update on COVID-19 situation in the state, at Government House, Jos.
He further explained that the passes would be time bound and would be updated periodically.
Professor Atu said the state government has also issued restrictions on interstate movement of vehicles on essential services, to operate only from 7a.m to 6p.m.
He said the action was also to checkmate persons who camouflaged as essential services workers to enter into the state against government directives, thus increasing risk of spreading COVID-19.
NORTHERN GOVERNORS CONDOLE SOKOTO, ZAMFARA STATES; AND CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF.
The Northern Governors Forum has condoled with the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Yusuf Tukur Buratai, over the demise of his mother, Hajiya Hauwa Yusuf Buratai. Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Plateau State, Simon Bako Lalong in a condolence message described the death of Hajiya Hauwa Buratai as a great loss to her family, Borno State and the Nation in general. He said “We share in this painful loss and deeply commiserate with the Chief of Army Staff who has devoted his career and energy to the fight against terrorism, banditary as well as other crimes that threaten Nigeria’s territorial integrity. We pray that the Almighty God will grant the soul of the departed matriarch eternal rest and comfort the family”. In a related development, Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum, Simon Bako Lalong has sent condolences to the Government and people of Sokoto and Zamfara States over the death former civilian Governor of the old Sokoto State, Dr. Garba Nadama. Governor Lalong expressed sadness over the death of Dr. Garba Nadama, who he said was not only a great historian, but remained a major source of inspiration and institutional capacity building for Governance in Nigeria. Lalong said the nation will miss the great contributions of the former Governor who combined academics with politics in a refined manner that motivated others and enhanced good governance in the old Sokoto State during the second Republic. While commiserating with the Governments of the two States, and the family of the deceased, Lalong prayed Almighty God to forgive the sins of the departed and comfort the family.

Your Excellency Sir, My name is Redzie D. Jugo. In the past I have written and sent letters to you concerning the needless killings in Plateau State generally and in Irigwe Chiefdom particularly.
Those letters were never acknowledged. This time, I write this letter in my personal capacity as a Nigerian citizen living in Plateau State, a professional colleague and a lover of humanity.
While I wish you happy birthday (as you clock 57 years old today), I wish to inform you that on the eve of your birthday, four enterprising, promising, young men and great farmers, Chohu Gado (27) Tanta Abba (27) Friday Musa (25), Emmanuel Kure (22), were gunned down in what many described as a staccato of automatic gun fire. These young farmers actively contributed to the food sufficiency portfolio in Nigeria. Now an untimely end has been forced upon them and their replacements will not be forthcoming anytime soon.
Sir, you may have heard whispers (if not seen) of how parts of Bokkos, Barkin Ladi, Riyom, Mangu and Bassa LGA’s are now ruled by fear rather than by law. Children are caught in crossfires; pregnant women are killed with their unborn babies never knowing the joy of suckling. For these people, their version of peace has a semblance of bloody order and violent decorum.
How else does one explain four young men, ambushed in the middle of the Irigwe Chiefdom and gunned down, on that open stretch of road in between Kwall and Miango Villages; while seemingly, under the watch of Security personnel?
Sir, I am worried that, even though you had two valuable opportunities to speak on the carnage on Irigwe land during your world press conference, you did not. All that the people remember is your description (on Channels TV) of the killing of their loved ones as, “pockets of killings”. Sir, even if you are challenged and cannot shield them from internal aggressors, at least lament with them and sing a dirge with them. Let them know that they are not alone.
Sir, when you hold security meetings, what exactly is the nature of the interaction with security agents? I ask because I know that dead people don’t talk or get infected by the COVID 19, but those who are alive do not seem to be impacted by the security meetings held in those conference rooms Sir.
As at the eve to your birthday (i.e. from January 1st 2020) the statistics from Irigwe land reads: 45, 15, 1434, 104, 67. These numbers describe the numbers for deaths, injured, destroyed rooms, farms and barns. This is of course minus farm-hardware, furniture, building materials and the likes. For some reason the lockdown has been favorable to the attackers.
I am concerned because I read the Press statement released by a prominent son of Bassa LGA and a title holder of his people, someone you are very acquainted with and holds you in high esteem; Hon. Lumumba Dah Adeh, former Member and arguably the best human (and emotional) resource that ever, truly represented the people of Bassa/Jos North Constituency. His Press Release titled, “LALONG, FG, STOP THE ATTACKS IN RIGWE CHIEFDOM” (published on the 16th April 2020) went largely ignored by your good self. Sir, when he spoke he did so for a voiceless many across the state. The voice of the people is a proxy for a much higher power.
Sir, beyond being in the same hall as you when I addressed a gathering which included you and the Vice President after the gruesome Gashish massacre of your citizens in 2018, I do not know you closely.
However one thing that I can gamble my bottom kobo on is that you will want to be immortalized for standing with your people when it mattered most, even in the face of adversity and against the need to be politically correct.
I am using this medium to ask you in the name of all that is just and benevolent to take on the anguish of your people, go to the President of the Federal Republic, speak to Defense Ministry hierarchy, find succor for the victims, compensate them in the way we know you know how to and end these killings. No one lives forever but you have an opportunity to engrave your name in the hearts of many for eternity.
The National Day of Mourning (NDOM), comes up on the 28 May 2020, it will be a good place to start, let the world hear of your love for your people. The dead are not just statistic; Sir, the killings and destruction has to stop and we need to see leadership in this regard. For the dance steps to change, the music must take the lead.
Sir, if you do what is suggested herein and for reasons truly beyond your control the status quo remains, posterity will never forget that you did your best, that you sat with your people in their funeral parlors and you sang that dirge with them when it mattered most.
The Federal Government has made a remarkable breakthrough in finding cure for the novel Coronavirus wildly referred to as COVID-19.
This was contained in a letter written to Director General, National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Health, A.A Abdullahi, stating that a herbal cure for COVID-19 has been put together by the ministry’s Traditional Complementary and Alternative Medicine (TCAM) Department.
The letter was dated April 28, 2020, Titled: FORMULATION OF A PHYTO MEDICINE COUGH MIXTURE/SYRUP FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF COVID-19 PATIENTS BY TRADITIONAL, COMPLEMENTARY AND ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE DEPARTMENT OF THE MINISTRY.
According to Abdullahi, the Ministry took the pains to research into scientific materials, hence came up with a formulation intended for the management of cough in COVID-19 and other cough related infections.
Part of the letter reads: “Formulation of cov-herbal cough mixture. Interestingly all the ingredients that make up the formulation are medicinal plants that are widely used as food materials and medicines. They include garlic, onions, ginger,west African black pepper,boobad fruits. The innovation here is composition of the formula.
“This medicinal plants have documented scientific evidences of long use for the management of cough and other respiratory infections, with medicinal properties with mucolytic, antitussive, expectorant, soothing, demulcent, anti-inflammatory and antiviral effects.”
The Ministry of Health also expressed their determination to walk-the-talk in the promotion and integration of herbal medicine into the health care delivery system. As well as stated their desire to show case to Nigerians, the herbal product which they say is 100% sourced locally.
It will be recalled that Nigeria’s COVID-19 cases continue to rise on daily basis with the herbal solution yet to be tried locally or pronounced amid increasing death toll in Nigeria.
